I just got a new PGP in the mail today. I like it, but I have a few questions:

1. How do you adjust the velocity?
2. The screw on the end of the 12ie-tube doesn't want to unscrew until my tank is empty or venting. Is this normal?
3. What can I use to lube everything?

Thanks in advance, everyone.

1. How do you adjust the velocity? The bottom screw in the back. In for lower, out for higher
2. The screw on the end of the 12ie-tube doesn't want to unscrew until my tank is empty or venting. Is this normal? Yes, mine did it as well. Well, it was alot harder to get the 12 gram out.
3. What can I use to lube everything? Just some lube or oil. Doesn't really matter

answer=red

1. How do you adjust the velocity?
You dont - Velocity adjusters are not included on the stock model & have to be added as an aftermarket accessory.
2. The screw on the end of the 12ie-tube doesn't want to unscrew until my tank is empty or venting. Is this normal?
Yes (if I am understanding the question correctly...)
3. What can I use to lube everything?
Any standard (non petroleum) paintball gun lube - KC, Gold Label, Gun Butta, etc.

Congrats - pgp's are great pistols, virtually indestructable & alot of fun to play with. Enjoy!

Really? Is that part of a "newer" PGP design? I dont remember that on my old one, but that was in the 80's, so I might not be correct...

Okay, there is a screw below the bottom tube on the back.

Is that it?

If there is no velocity adjustment, what happens when I'm shooting hot?

Pre 2k PGP's needed an RVA

Post 2k PGP came with one

But I think you got is back wards Flor....

In for higher, out for lower

Edit: You can shim it, cut it depending which way you want to go with it.

Or make your own RVA by drilling it out, tapping it and putting in a grub screw.

Or Buy a RVA

You can also look in the B/S/T's of forums, especially MCB. I have a PGP 2K1 so it came with an RVA, but I bought a Cooper-T bolt (smoother and lighter stroke due to being delrin(?)and having adjustable bolt lug), RVA and trigger shoe (which I don't like) anyway. Occasionally you can find that kind of package deal or just parts sales and you can find RVAs in there sometimes.

If I don't get an RVA, will the marker shoot hot if the day heats up, or will the velocity stay relatively constant?

An RVA is not really an option. You NEED one.

Thanks for all your help so far, guys. I have yet another question. When I gas my up PGP, air leaks out through where I insert the cartridge. I made sure the cap over the 12ie was on all the way, but still it leaked. The leaking subsided somewhat after I fired a few shots, but it still continued. Why is this happening?

Sounds like you may need a new 12gram face seal, not completely sure. But it's only $3 from Palmers, so even if that doesn't fix the problem, you're not really out any cash... I don't know what else would cause that leak though.
