The switchblade is a player that handles two postitions and exels at both. Idealy the two roles a switchblade will cover is sniper and either Broadaword or hammer. The marker that is ideal for this is one that can go full auto on a Q-loader for better sight picture like a sniper but the Q-loader makes for improved reload time if drawn into a fire fight. The Switchblade moves to a sniper position and waits for the OPFOR patrol and either picks one off and runs to another position or rips into them with full auto fire. Many of the snipers/ ghost flakers skills are requred but if nessasary can utalizethe heavy volmume of fire like a Broadsword to create shock force on the enemy and give off the impression of being attacked by a larger force.

Soooo....I guess it'd be too much to call this "A player who plays two positions"? You know...like everybody in the Brigade?
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... I second that ditto'ed statement if you think about it specops just made the positions as a ploy to sell position specific gear.

positions just limit you and really dont mean anything other than what spec ops wants you to buy.

and isnt that how most snipers actually play anyway? very rarely do i get eliminated by one shot

maybe, but for a position it's almost like a Rambo because your creeping through the woods and lay into the enemy with full auto. It's almost the perfect clechaie in some ways. Other than that it's more then theasible as a position.

Does theasible mean the same thing as "redundant and useless?" Because then you would be correct.

a little bit of both because Spec Ops has there vids reflecting each position as a primary when the position I sugessted reflect two postitions that can be inter changeable for one player.

No, just too easy. I mean, this post pretty much explains how bad an idea this is by itself.

The last time I played I played a position I called "Sewing Needle". This is the crazy son of a gun who goes out and plays pistol primary. I don't intend this as a suggestion for an actual position, more a glimpse for everyone into my sense of humor (or psychosis, whichever you prefer).

Yet another reason we should have a self-created "other" position on the brigade.

But don't yall see! Everyone needs to have a position so that they can better limit themselves and their team. It's a shame in the time I've played I've seen paintball go from, Hey we play paintball together and we don't have any positions to Oh no! I need to have a position to play paintball!!! If I don't have a position how can I possibly play the sport of paintball??? I am guilty of limiting myself, but in the end I've learned that to benefit the team and win, I can't possibly just stay a paintball sniper out in the field, I have to be a paintball player, first and foremost.

But anywho, this guy isn't wanting it to be a position for everyone, it's just how he plays.

I like the versatility that your style of play allows. You can be really anything and anywhere on the field, just wreaking havoc! Gamer plays kinda like this from what I've read in his sniper posts. Sneak around and hit large groups with full auto to take out entire groups at once. It's a great way to eliminate patrols or groups attacking a location. Just sneak up on four or five guys and waste them all in one burst. I don't like to use full auto personally and most fields don't allow it, but ramping would be nice to use, instead.

While I wouldn't play like this, I can see the advantages that appeal to you and I hope you continue to have fun playing!

i agree with smitty, just play, i mean if you like to play a sniper for instance thats fine but most people don't just play sniper, like me i like to ambush people and snipe but thats not the only thing i like to do i play dagger and sabre it just depends on my mood or field

I'm just saying that those of us that do play a specialty position can try and be more fluid in how they play. You can hide wearing the sniper gear and have the Q-Loader on your marker and when you see the opposeing team in your sights, you can either pick them off like a sniper or open up on them with full auto hence the name "switchblade"
