Lately, I have been banging up my knees pretty bad with all the roots and rocks at my field. Anyone have any experience with good knee pads?

Are you looking for hard shell or soft shell knee pads? I use wrestling kneepads since I already have them. They work pretty good.

Soft. I remember while I was tiling, I had a pair of hard shell ones (hard back knee pads I think?), and i tripped and those things shattered.

Alta Superflex Knee Pads, hands down.

These are the best pads I have used. The bottom strap is not elastic, so the pad does not slip down your leg as easily as pads with elastic bottoms. I used to screw up my knees pretty badly when I went paintballing. Then I dislocated my knee cap about a year ago. I bought these as soon as I stopped physical therapy so I could go paintballing again. Best decision ever. It's as if you're playing with pillows on your knees, haha. OPSGEAR also carries them.

I 2nd the AltaLok. They are light weight and very durable. I have been really hard on my the last 2 years and they are just now starting to tear through some of the rivets. They are still usable, but I am not sure they will survive this season. However, I look at the damage to them and just can't imagine what that would have done to my knees. I tried some thicker milspec ones that were too heavy and fell down, Alta's are perfect for paintball.

All the patterns you could want also... http://www.milsimproducts.com/cart.php?tar...55&pageID=0
