When I get a job (Sears canceled my application... meh) and after Christmas is over with, I'm planning on upgrading to one of these two kits. I currently have a Tippmann 98 Custom, which I'm trying to mod into a Barret M107 Rifle, or get as close as I can because the 98 doesn't have the full kit, only the A-5. Anyhow, I have a J&J 14" barrel right now, and while it's definitely an amazing barrel, it doesn't have the look of the M107. Any help that you guys can give will be amazing!

I have used both a Hammerhead battlestix 5 fin kit and a J&J kit on my A5. I was very dissappointed in the j&j kit as I had an older single barrel of theirs that was great. For me the biggest thing was accuracy, and in that category there is very little comparison. Both barrels are quiet for A5 which is not an extremely quiet marker.

J&J- 7.9
Hammerhead- 9.1

Hmm... Interesting. I've heard good things about the Edge... Oh well. I was leaning towards the Battle Styxx, but with the price of the Edge, I wasn't totally sure. Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

The battlestixx is pretty quiet if you tune your marker right. The battle sticks also is designed with a similar design of the M107, Reversed porting. It throws all the sound back away from your target. Use it with low pressure mods and It could be very interesting. Of coarse with low pressure attributes all barrels become much quieter.

J&J Edge averaged about 81 dB on the barrel test while Hammerhead averaged about 76.5 dB.

J&J Performed better after a break on Mann's Barrel Test The actual accuracy of the J&J wasn't tested, but you can see how the hammerhead ranks compared to other barrels on the market.

The Hammerhead averages 142 grams in weight while the J&J averages 116 grams. It varies just a bit depending on your ID and diameter of the back piece.
