if I had a egrip, I would want to be able to switch from semi-auto to full-auto in the field depending on the situation.

Provided I'm limited to those options I would just go with the basic A-5 semi-auto. I have no need for anything else and see no advantage of going with anything more complex.X-7s and A-5s work off of the same valve system. Since the A-5 is already bulky enough considering what all it's made of on the inside I certainly can't justify the extra cost of paying for the mil-sim look that I don't like to begin with in the X-7. E-grips? RTs? People give up on a standard trigger too easily. They offer plenty of firepower. I find it far more impressive when someone does well without exploiting firepower as an advantage. Even for the whole "it gets you out of bad situations" excuse so many people use to justify hosing out the paint.

If I was to stick with Tippmann I would probably go with a Pro/Carbine - nicer materials, nicer construction, free of all of the mil-sim junk, and no need for the ability to "upgrade". If I wasn't limited to Tippmann markers I would probably go with a Classic valved Automag or maybe one of Palmer's Pyres.

Me and my friends are at about the same skill levels, and they all have full-auto's which is annoying when you can't get them to stop shooting at you with 15bps compared to my puny 4-5bps. All that paint cost a lot but they have the money to back it up so they don't care.

I'd go with the e-grip on either. That way if you need to lay down fire you can, but for normal play you can use control and save rounds.

In the poll, an A5 with RT.

Outside of the poll, my 98C with RT.

I like the RT because of the simple all mechanical operation. It will work under water, as long as I have Co2 (usually enough for 5000+ round without changing tanks), and does not need batteries. Simple, mechanical, durable, and its very easy to move from semi to burst to auto, just by adjusting trigger pull.

I didn't vote, though if price doesn't matter, I'd go with a Macdev droid :P

Anyways, get the e-gripped A5, unless you want the milsim kits for the X7.

Then the X7 Egrip would be your choice. It has a more up to date fire selector similar to those found on todays automatic weapns.

For me, I have an A5 with E-grip and the Egrip I replaced with an APE Rampage board. I like it. To me the X7 is heavier and I am not overly impressed with it.
