by far my favorite knee pads i have ever used are sum old SWAT knee pads(the ones the guys with the breeching shields use). they are hard ABS plastic and cover not only the knee but a little above and below the knee so u dont feel it when you put you knee down on a root or sumth like that. they have gromited vent hols and closed cell foam padding and have clips and snaps to hold um on. they can be worn over or under the pants and usualy are issued in sets of elbows and knees. they are a little hard to find but im sure they can be found on the internet somewer.

I bought roller-blade knee pads because they are small and harder to hit but they protect. I would try to design something sleeker and less bulky like I normally see. The bulky ones have a greater and harder surface area to hit. Velcro is good to have as well as normal straps. I just srap mine without slipping my leg through the elastic part it reduced the awful scabs I would get from pinching. I don't care for elbow pads at all but I fell knee pads are a must for woodsball. There in nothing like smashing your knee cap on the sweet spot on a rock! There is the soft spot on your knee on the inside just above the knee cap. I'm sure most of us have hit that once or twice in our lives. If you hit that hard enough you will be on the ground in great pain for a few seconds but that can lead to you getting shot out. No go make me proud
