I used to be a huge Ebayer. I love Ebay still, but I have bought all the stuff I used to Ebay for and now I am out of items I am searching for. Among my searches and purchases for my marpat paintball rig was some headgear. I needed a cap for the summer, but was wondering if there was something out there that performed better than a backwards baseball cap.

Now, backwards baseball caps are great... dont get me wrong. I have been using them forever and enjoy using them. There is a wide range to choose from and no shortage of potential caps to choose from. I also like the marpat brimmed jungle hats and bandanas too, but I wanted something that was more paintball specific and original.

Thats when I found Karin Vail's digital marpat padded paintball hunting camo cap hat on Ebay. This cap costs $15.99 and is availible in a complete range of military and hunting camo. There is even solid colored caps in red and black.

I have now used this paintball cap in about 8 games and absolutley love it. I will never use another cap ever. I can not imagine another cap working better for the price. I could buy a Turtle cap, but I would be paying four times as much and I could never get one in my camo pattern. Karins caps are also softer and more flexible then a Turle cap, and is much more suited for woodball in my opinion.

One excellent thing about these caps is that they are perfectly and fully reversable, with another color on the inside to choose from. Thats like getting two colors for the price of one, so when your camo changes your hat does not have to.

The cap is perfectly rounded and is not cone-headed at all. A perfect fit. It is lightly padded, and the padding is perfect for paintball hits to the melon! Even the brim is soft and padded, and does not stick out like with a baseball cap. It never boithers the neck and feels great. You forget you are wearing it once you have your gogs on.

You can throw this cap in the wash the same as the rest of your BDUs, but make sure to let it hang dry so the shape does not change on you.

This cap will allow for more bounces and less pain. The worst hit I have ever taken in paintball without headgear on was to the base of my neck, where the neck meets the head. That sucked, and having a cap that protects this sensitive area is instant peace of mind! I have taken the exact same hit to this part of the head while wearing Karins cap and felt almost nothing. I was very happy about that!

Check out some pics that represent the style of cap, and the coverage it provides.

As you can see this cap provides excellent coverage, and blends in great with my other camo. For 16 bucks this cap is one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. I wanted the ultimate marpat rig, so I got the custom marpat vest, mask, etc. The cap completes the pattern and makes my rig very stealthy.

I even had to buy another cap after my dog ate the first one! I was heartbroken to find that my dog had ate my fave cap! I emailed Karin and told her about the chewed cap, and I bought another. She included this in the package with my cap...

An ACU bone for my dog to chew on! Now that is thoughtful! I have never encountered a more generous Ebayer before.

Karin is a paintball mom and her stuff is amazing. For the price this cap is going for it is a must have for any serious woodsballer. If you are using the Spec Ops digi camo then Id suggest getting an olive drab cap or even a cool looking black cap depending on your goggle color. If you are using a military or hunting camo then just find the pattern that matches and you will have one killer looking rig.

Here is the list of paintball caps on Karin Vail's Ebay store: http://sporting-goods.search.ebay.com/_Pai...QsassZkarinvail
Take some time to read about her caps there, and check out some pics. I think you are going to be very happy with the results. If you do buy something from Karin, just write a little note when you pay for the item saying that Gamer (Jeremy) sent you. Help support a cottage industry and support paintball mom Karin Vail.

Oh yeah. The mask has adhesive vinil attached to it that has been printed with the marpat pattern. This was done at a local sign shop.

Paint does not stick to the flexible plastic areas on a V Force mask, only the hard plastic like with the VForce Shield (my primary mask). The vinil sticks nicley however.

Id suggest calling local sign shops to see if they can make a sheet for you. Apply it with a heatgun or even a hot hairdrier to help with the bends and curves. You can use the rest on your gun or whatever else you want. Get them to print the sheet, but not laminate it. Instead, you can protect the patten with some satin or matte spray varnish or clearcoat. Make sure to mask off the soft plastic areas and obviously remove your lens before spraying. Do several light coats instead of one heavy coat, and let each coat fully dry before spraying again.

I just got my Tac One and Empire Reloader B hopper. Its all black, so I wanted an all black rig. I am now wearing my cap inside out, using the black on the outside. It is the exact same stitching... just a different color. I love this hat! Ill post pics when I get some this weekend.

Hehe, Ima MARPAT freak.

And you basicly said what the main difference is right there Pooker. What makes Karin's caps unique is the fact that the brim goes down, and not out. A stiff brim sticking out is not as comfy as a padded brim that hugs to the back of your head.

Also, beanies with visors...
- are not fully reversable
- rarley, if ever, come in MARPAT and other popular military camo patterns
- are not as cool as Karin's custom paintball caps :P

I just bought one about a month ago and love it.

I ordered a MARPAT/ACU one. The first one that came was too small for my head and I contacted Karin about it, she told me just to find someone who would want that one and she'd send me out a bigger one. Got it about a week later (from WA to PA).

It's comfortable, breathes well, and makes the shots to your head hurt much less. I played with it all day at Stalingrad and don't have a single complaint.

Does the back of the hat warp or flex in a weird way when you bend you head backwards?
