For those of you who say "MEDIC" take a long hard look at the BASICS to the way the game is played. Medics have no place in the game.

You obviously have never played in a real scenario game. And since this must be the case, you have never seen a person with balls of steel running through a rain of paint to heal/wipe a player. I have been rescued multiple times by people daring to come get me. I tried to play it once and found it un-nerving to not be able to shoot back.

A medic may have no place in speedball, but they are essential in scenario.

I would vote:
Tank Hunter
Tank Crew: this would include drivers/gunners
Scenario or Role player*

*This position would encompass ALL the role player positions. Such as Medic, Engineer, Demolitions, Spies, unique roles that keep the story going, etc.

Adding these roles as combined would allow them all.

Positions are defined by your play style and how you contribute to the team, not by what equipment you carry.

Not entirely true. You wouldnt see a dagger wrapped in bushrag, carrying 15 pods of paint, and weilding a Double T Gatlin. Your equipment can easily fall into a defining roll for your position. However, I do agrr that special tactics should be a position that is added for those people whe DO specifically play those positions such as pistoleer, granadier, and demolitions.
When Honor is tested at 300 feet per second, will you pass the test?

Engineer
Grenadier
and i kinda like the idea of that "hybrid sniper", but maybe a medic or somthing

Reason why i said enigneer instead of tank hunter is because they can be put into the same catagory and do the same thing.

I think it would be cool to have engineers, but it would be kind of hard (if the field owner will even let you) to build a trench during a game...

I like medic, obviously it wouldn't be a combat position, but if they have a RazorBack position, why not a medic.

I have a question. How would you have a medic? If you get hit your out. Are you suggesting that a medic can wipe it off or something? Or am I missing something?

Although it would be fun to set up a little scenario game at our field with a medic on each team...

As far as the scenarios that I play in, a medic can wipe a player that is hit. As long as that player stays in the same spot they got hit, and they didn't get hit in the head. A head shot is an automatic "death" in which a medic cannot treat. You go straight to the dead box, or reinsertion point. As far as the medic getting hit, yes, they can get hit. And if they do get hit, nobody is around to heal them (unless there's multiple medics. A certain time period has to pass, before the medic can be reinserted (if at all). Adds a little more realism to the scenario games, considering in the military, there are medics as well. And scenario play is modeled after the military (somewhat).

Hope that clears it up a bit.

Yeah, I almost forgot, I vote for a Medic to be a new position, Scout/Recon/Spie (all can be somewhat classified as the same type of position), and Tank Crew (if you're in the tank, no matter what you're doing, you're apart of the crew). Tank hunter is also around there, though any exsisting position, or person can take out a tank (in some scenarios).

Does anyone have a link to where Special Ops said they were creating new brigade positions?

I just don't see the point. The current positions (including Driver and Tank Hunter) cover pretty much everything. I can't see the need for one extra position much less three.

WTF? I thought we got to have a word in this, why can't we suggest our own?

I would have made up something like a Special Tactics person, someone who single handedly moves behind lines, or a Recon position.

I voted Engineer, not all games have tanks.

i think you should have like a pathfinder as they call them. like a cross between a sniper and a dagger. great at hit and run tactics and play as scout.

Ghost Sniper, Engineer, Tank Crew

I agree that it would make sense for the Ambush Sniper and Ghost Flanker to be seperated. There is a larger degree of difference between these two positions than Broadsword and Hammer, so it is not unreasonable to distinguish the two.

Tank Crew is already a position that SpecOps recognizes but has not been given a big picture yet on the Brigade. It makes sense that since it is already included to some extent that it would be brought into the light as a full position of play.

As I see it Engineer can cover various jobs on the field. A person who plants mines, carries grenades, takes out tanks, or runs to the wounded. Open ended enough that poeple arn't excluded from the rare oppertunities to play in the position, but defined enough that people can claim it with pride.

I was tempted to say Ref, since that too is a credible involvment on the paintball field, however it won't really complete the picture of what kind of team mate the Brigade member would be. I'll concede that involvement as a ref is points worthy, but I wouldn't call it a team position by any means.

Spec Ops would of course come up with cool names though like Rapier, Longsword, Trebuchet... things like that.

I like the Commando. This could envelope the tank hunter, and engineer. Commandos are esentially special forces, but in smaller groups. Let's face it, every team has those one or two guys that always take on the hardest challenges, and do things that much larger groups could not do.

I like this one, too.

I think it should be support classes. I'll even include catchy names.

Medic

Supply (The Shield) - Carries a lot of paint , Sticks In the middle of the teams lineup and provides paint to commrads (SP?) in need. When the frontmen are overwhelmed they fall back to the Shield for cover.

Special Operations - Is the Hybrid ... Contributes in all ways, plays many roles during a game.
