i mean, if you read the specs and get down into the technical things about it, i'd say its worth it. ill probably just get the neck pickup, i get a horrible volume cut in there.

im still working on how im going to do the volume/tone controls on my jackson, i wasnt very happy with a 3 way switch, the 5 way wasnt quite there, and the three way with the middle position being a killswitch is very "meh".

probably once i figure out a nice preamp/on board eq, ill put that in.

cool stuff man.

i think im going to build my next guitar with the body shaped like the recent ibanez presitges, i played my guitar teachers 2000 ibanez S2020X today, and that thing felt amazing.

i think i still have a body i havent routed in my closet, i just hope i didnt route a neck pocket yet, that may make it tricky to fit an ibanez AANJ :ghillie:

Hey guys, I play bass, currently running an American Fender J-Bass through a Roland 100w cube, all stock. It's getting to be new string time, just wondering if you have any recommendations for new strings.

I'm also looking for a new cable, mine has a short. Length is an issue, so if you know of any 20'+ cables, please let me know. :D

Monster or planet waves for cables.
I use monster. They can be a bit of $$$$$ for a 20' though.

Also, I was just browsin around online and happened to come across this

Tis a Gibson Explorer. I have yet to play one, which I plan to before even really considering purchasing (especially since it's over a grand), but I'm looking for a general opinion it if anyone has had any previous experience with it.

Yes, this part of my search to find a better guitar, so far I've come across some I'm interested in...but nothing quite too solid just yet.

That guitar is a little out of your range.
It would be kinda like me buying an ego and pumping it. (not that that wouldn't be cool but you get the point)
if you like how they play and feel though, I would suggest try out Epiphone. I don't care what people say but epiphones can be very good guitars. You would get plenty of enjoyment and playablility out of a guitar the is $800 cheaper at you level or even someone who have been playing 4 years.
So don't fall into the Gibson or bust track like the rest of the world.

i played an older (2004) explorer, it was alright, felt fairly balanced. nothing really stood out good or stood out bad.

i'd say stay away from gibson, their quality control is HORRIBLE now. epiphone has managed to keep their QC halfway decent, but i would avoid them too.

edit- MY PEDAL MAY BE HERE TODAY

it's been in Georgia overnight, im pretty sure it should get here sometime today. thank god the suspense is killing me! :(

Oh, I didn't mean it wasn't the real deal, I just meant that the one I was looking at isn't the same one...which I find kind of dissapointing because that 68 looks smexy.
