Just and idea i found...

Lone Wolf

While many people are well developed in their particular speciality, Lone Wolves are well trained in all aspects and tactics of paintball. Their setup allows them the most flexibility, allowing them to easily start off as a Marksman and then change to a Gunner if needed. They are generally speaking the older players that have been in the sport the longest. While they may not work with a particular squad, hence their name, their skills can be used to augment any small group.

Sooo....a Sabre that doesn't necessarily have a team.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... Before the Admins, I swear this creed. My sig and myself are the defenders of my forum. We are the masters of our enemy. WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY PROFILE. - Tippmann Owner #pi

Kinda. Imagine a ambush sniper that could fillin for everything. The only thing is this is for very experanced players like a postion that you could get once your an officer. Thats the general feel im tryn to get. Every team has their "handy man" or go to guy. this is just a name for it.

The whole idea of the positions was to promote team work...so a Lone Wolf position, at least by name, kind of contradicts the whole idea.

Your description of the position though is almost exactly like the existing Sabre Position.

No worries. We like it when people show that they're at least thinking about things.

Also...anyone can play whatever way they prefer and use any name they like to describe it. We just tried to put names to some of the most common playing styles we knew of so that people who have never met could get together and run as an effective team since if someone described themselves as a Dagger...or a Broadsword...or a Sabre...you could have an idea of their preferred playing style and work together better based on having that info.

It's not meant to be the "be all end all" or to limit play to just those roles. It's the part people often lose track of.

I could probably be the lone wolf type i like to work alone, it helps me think clearer, now thats not to say that i'm not a team player.

to be honest my idea was for them to go out on their own but work with the team. If you can JOIN a team. they are alot better than the walk on weeines and you notice youll start winning more. :)

I say it is dumd idea because if you are a lone wolf you have greater chance of being eliminated due to the other team playing in a group they will own any one that is going solo it is just a proven point. But good idea though, just it woudln't work.

Yes, the current positions already describe that guy. "Sabre". Thus, what MOATI pointed out in previous posts.

I agree that the current positions support teamwork, as teamwork is very effective. I also agree that a "Lone Wolf" contradicts that idea. However, the first thing I thought of when reading "Lone Wolf" is the very few players out there that are one man teams. I've been at a few games where literally one man on the field changed the flow of the game.

first paintball is a team sport your starting to think like the joks at my school (there all ball hogs) second basicly what that is is a sniper and a dagger mixed into one its not needed as a whole other posistion
