I am planning on having a bush game soon with upwards of 20 people and was wondering what to do to ensure it is safe (besides masks etc). I am trying to get my hands on a handheld chrony, but thats not going well and I dont want to buy one ($100...). We can try to use a known safe marker (i chronied mine yesterday and use hpa) and match trajectory or distance...but that is hard and innacurate. What do you do?

I bought one just for that reason. You can try the trajectory method but attempt to keep it pretty low.

rule of thumb: If you wouldnt want to be shot with your own marker, turn it down. I know its not the safest, but it keeps velocity down to a comfortable level.

doesn't sound like the safest thing to do..... I'd shoot at a tree and see how hard they hit and immagine I'm the tree... that would tell me if I wanted to get hit by it..... Yea I'd say just keep everyone's markers down....

Make a want ad thread for a chronograph and see if you can pick one up cheap?

EDIT: Make everyone stand in a group and have one person shoot while the others watch. If everyone agrees that the player's marker is shooting too hot then turn it down to an agreeable level.

20 players, $100 chrono.

$5 dollars extra each for the price of safety

$100 is too high for even brand new cost - used is way lower. I've seen them go recently for $40 & $35 here on the forum. They pop up more often on ebay though: LINK.

You bought the brand, not my allegiance.

A cheap way of doing it would be to shoot someone trustworthy from about 50 feet away. I'm sure they can tell if a marker is shooting hot or not. I'm hoping to get a handheld chrony for christmas. :thumbs-up:
Yeah I use an M-16 grip, wanna fight about it?

Best webcomic ever.
