I have a 98 Custom Pro, which comes with a barrel that is essentially an 11" Werks. As far as I can tell it's a nice barrel, and it has performed very well when I've got good paint. Unfortunately my field is almost always FPO and sells horrible paint, but the barrel still performs decently, considering how horrible the paint is. The A-5 Werks should be the exact same since the only difference in the manufacturing process is probably which machine the barrel goes to to get threaded.

I have a 98 threaded 14" Werks on my A-5 via adaptor, and I have to say that in my last game my balls were not going straight, BUT I think this is largely due to very poor quality field paint on a very hot day, and I have had good accuracy with it in the past with better paint, so go ahead. Keep in mind it's a .689.

I have used it for about a year now. I love it, shoots great as long as you have good paint, and a good bore match. The 11 inch that comes stock on a custom pro doesn't compare, so don't judge it off that.

In what i researched the werks barrel is $60 (correct?) and i bought a 14" Freak barrel for $60 for my A-5 which i believe to be much better. If you can by that.

Same for me, minus the FPO.

I had one for the 98 custom that worked beautifully. It's one of my favorite barrels. Check out the review...
