I have an A-5 with a J&J Ceramic (1 piece) barrel right now, I would like to buy a kit/two-piece because of the ability to get a good paint-to-bore match. What is a cheap (but good) kit/two-piece that will help me do this?

The J&J edge barrel kit is pretty much a ceramic with interchangeable backs allowing you to change bores.

So you can expect the same kinds of things that you get from the J&J along with better paint matching.

No, sadly it doesn't work that way... I've never heard of it done. But like Tenacious says, it'll be like your current J&J except more accurate/consistent (assuming you're using paint that's at least decent, and your gun itself is consistent).

A palmer brass barrel is a good choice. It is a one-piece barrel that is elliptically honed to match all sorts of bore sizes. They can be bought at www.palmer-pursuit.com for as little as 45 dollars on an a5.

Beats any J&J barrel, along with many others barrel out there in my opinion.

Even if the threads were the same it would be less expensive to buy the J&J edge kit.

Actually he can look up Python compression systems.
