went paintball about week ago.. took a few first timers with..

and have drilled the main basic universal rules into their heads (Goggles on at all times on playing field, and Barrel blocking devices on when in safe zones, no SHOOTING in safe zones, USE THE SAFETY SWITCH!)

one of the first things my friend does (now i showed him where everything is on the marker) he screws in a tank, loads up some paint, and takes the barrel condom off (thinking its ok because were getting ready to head out) the safety was not on and he somehow discharged his marker and a round went flying past my head, when i told him to put a barrel condom on he tells me he does not know where he put it, when i told him to put the safety on and point the marker down, he looks and me and asks "Wheres the safety?"

i had to remind him 3-4 times that day about having his barrel condom on, and explained to him again and again if that barrel condom is off in the lot i expect the hopper to be off, and the tank disconnected from the marker...

is it just me, or do some people (even if its their first time) dont belong in this game?

this is the same person that took a few more extra pop shots at me after i called out in Rambo.. (he missed every shot too, i just thought it was weird how paintballs were landing at my feet)

We make those people put the barrel of the gun in their pants pocket.

Hard to shoot the gun that way and they tend to get a bit self consious of the gun shooting they start realizing we are pretty serious about the BBD rules.

I just don't like when people are stupid about it. When you feel experienced enough and you don't have your gun turned and say their hopper is off, its fine by me. But if the youger/ noobies are around, then its a no no. Because they see it, and want to do it too...

...try playing outlaw ball with the guys I play with...nothing like having 7-15 aired up and loaded markers within a 15 foot proximity of each other with safeties off most of the time. Not to mention everyone has there mask off and have never even heard of a barrel sleeve. I don't have much of a selection of who I play with though, so oh well.

Only one day did I not worry about my gun....

1. Phantom - needs to be pumped to fire.
2. Safety on.
3. I lost my barrel condom like 2nd game and didn't wan't to buy another immediately...

A few games later I convinced a lax field ref to lend me a BBD :P when I first asked they were like I need a deposit first I was like I don't carry a wallet out here lol ... plus I made him realise what happens if my gun DOES go off in a safety area because he wouldn't lend me one !

I like that idea. Why didn't I think of that? Mind if we use it?

When I am reffing at the local field, we give walk-ons/partygoers the 3 strike thing. if your ref has to call you out 3 times then you dont play the rest of the day. end of story. it usualy works and I've only had to sit 3 people the whole 7 months i've been there, but i get annoyed when people walk off the field waving the barrel of the gun in the air.
