What would be the best close range mil-sim marker that could put down 8+ bps semi-auto

...close range marker? Elaborate.

I guess you could try an X7 MP5... thing. But most milsim paintball guns look like crap anyway. Just buy an Ion (even though I hate Smart Parts). They're fast, quiet, and small. Unless you can afford a Tac-One.

And I'm assuming you're using HPA.

either an a5/x7 or tiberius 8 pistol
Once you hear the shot, it's already too late... A5 Sniper
95% of people with a flatline think it makes the gun more inaccurate. if you are the other 5% who take the time to sit down and tune it right put this in your sig.

Close range marker? Every marker has the same range (sans the Apex or Flatline equipped markers)
As for realistic, the Tac 8 or one of Engler's creations.

Are you talking about a marker that looks like a real CQB weapon? If so your choices are pretty slim. The X7 and A5 with some MP5 or UMP type mods would get that look. Thats the route I would have gone until recently (I actually wanted the MP5SD look for the A5). Then I discovered the milsim modding potential of the Ion. After seeing some of the milsim Ion mods around the forums over the past few months, I've decided to use it as a platform to do a P90 mod (Inspired by Funky Diver's P90 Ion mod). Which is a good CQB weapon in real life and happens to be my favorite real gun. The Ion internals are so small that you can fit them inside a P90 or other airsoft shells without hacking up the airsoft body itself like others have done trying to put an A5 in there, so you end up with a very realistic milsim marker using the Ion and easy to do. Head on over to the Mods & Upgrades forum and you'll see some.

Big Fan of the P90 and will do an airsoft/Ion mod of one someday soon.

If you have the cash I'd get a Tac-One...even though there not really milsim.

Do you mean some sort of shotgun or do you think pistols have less range?

My marker isn't mil-sim -- but it really gives you problems in close range.

I prefer to take you out and move on then get in a fire fight.

The AT85 is pretty short and VERY milsim.
Also can fire pretty fast.

This is my signature. There are many like it but this one is mine.
PM Me if you want to know why my signature is legal...Its actually the most reported thing on the forum these days -Tenacious

Both my Ion and Viking work in "close range" quarters. But all paintball markers have roughly the same "range"

Do you mean a smaller sized marker?

Ion would be a good choice, small and light.

All markers have the same range...

X-valved automags can be pretty nasty. Deadly accurate, rugged, and if you throw an HPA tank with adjustable output and set it to around 900-1000 PSI you get some crazy bounce, plus there are other ways to make it fast (E-mag, Devil Mag, Pneu mag, ULT, I-mag, Spydermag). You can either get a tac one which is sort of mil sim, or you could do some custom stuff to your gun.

Ions fit nicely into milsim bodies too, so again, a custom milsim Ion would also work, as would an SP8 (which is basically an ion pre-milsimed)

Tippman makes milsim stuff for all thier guns, all have the option of E-grips and RTs, so thats how you can get yout 8+BPS

Of the above options I can rocomend the automag above the other two with confidence, it's a much nicer gun.

Also, if your willing to do no milsim, you will have some MUCH better options out there. And custom work is cooler than stoor bought mil-sim stuff any day, just so you know.
"A bad day of paintball is one where I never get hit. If I don't look like I got date-raped by an octopus by the end of the day, thats a bad thing."

So you want to know why it's called an A5?

If I could assemble a new regulator for a paintball gun, I could build a liver. How hard could it be?

Automaggot #79

I'll bet you $10 the above post is telling you to buy an automag.
