2nd OPERATION: STATIC LINE

When communications become key to winning a battle, the team that holds the communications equipment may control the battle. With the ability to decode and falsify information, this battle may be won by deception and ambush as much as straight ahead fighting. The question however, is what happens if no one has communications? What happens when the line goes dead? How will your forces fare in temporary information darkness when they are forced into more instinctual combat? How good are you...really?

Hey, guys. This field is fun and VP puts on a good game. Rogue Cell attended the first game of the trilogy, Distant Thunder. I strongly suggest you head to Vital Paintball and check out Static Line.

The Blue team is in need of a General. The battle will be a great one and there are many objectives and missions that were not taken in part one of this Trilogy. Step up and take control of the blue team and prove once and for all that they can hold there own land and get back what is rightfully theirs.

FIELD UPDATE

Got some work done at the field and I thought I would update the teams. We built a hut at the control arm with shooting ports on all sides. This should make it much harder to take once a team has moved in. Along the side of the control arm we took the tape line that followed the road and moved it back and up the hill towards the red side. This added approximately 4 more wooded acres to the field. It incorporated 30 plus BIG trees to move behind, and we are now building multiple bunkers on the new areas. 10 more fireing crosses on the first and second floor, have been added to the fort and we are building a few more free standing walls behind the fort to bring the fight in closer from the wood line. Other changes are in the works and we will keep you posted of the changes as they happen. Hope to see everyone at the upcomming events even though the fall season is PACKED with events.

Here is a bit of a long post, that will hopefully shed some light on a little of the story line. It written (for those who dont catch on) in communications between the teams and their government representatives in their own nations.

So, here it is:

Operation: Distant ThunderRed team: A ‘First Strike’ unit that is independently funded known (when they are known) as the 12th Special Ops Force – Specter.

Blue team: An elite homeland security-esque division that is government funded and typically deployed when there is a threat on home soil. This division, which is not listed among the standard battalions in the armed forces, has become affectionately known as the Guardians.

Recent Military Communications:

The Guardians have been deployed to an old weapons testing ground in response to a report of foreign helicopters touching down inside our borders. The Guardians are to establish a base of operations in and around Fort Sheehan to show both our presence and awareness in and about the situation. We are unsure as to why our neighbors have decided to break the treaty and intrude on our soil, but if they come with hostilities, then so be it.

We believe, after observing their movements and the number of forces they seem to bringing that they plan to move beyond the area of Fort Sheehan. The number of helicopters they seem to have on a constant run in and out of our borders supports this. If they are planning an assault on our capitol city then we must stop them at Sheehan.

Meanwhile in a country not so far away…

To: Specter C.O.
Re: Recent Communications

After several scans by our own intel departments as well as scans reported in from a few of our independent agencies we have concluded that what we feared is indeed true. We are not yet ready to go public with the information, as some of our sources cannot be exposed. To that end we will need more information. We are deploying Specter into what will soon become hostile territory. Your mission is to establish yourselves in the area and find a fortifiable position. We are well aware that our moves will be perceived as hostile and we will be blamed for moving first. If they do possess the item we spoke of then it will come out in the end that we acted in the best interest of all the surrounding territories. We will be deploying you in an area surrounding what we believe to have once been a testing site for W.O.M.D. There is a fort in that area that has been abandoned for some time. There are also some perimeter defenses, but we believe them to be inactive. Proceed with caution, we do not know what may or may not be in the area despite our best efforts to find out. You have clearance to use force if fired upon, but understand that there are members of the upper levels of our government who know nothing of this operation, nor do they need to. You will report only to me.

Post – Operation Report

Invading forces deployed mid-morning in an assault on the defending forces. Defenses and checkpoints such as the local Surface to Air Missile Site and the Supply Line Checkpoint Arm changed hands of control throughout the day. Fort Sheehan, though baking in the midday sun, was the most exchanged location. Although both forces spent time occupying the fort, the secret of Sheehan was not exposed. The teams called a decisive cease fire after the blue forces withdrew from the battle in the late afternoon hours. As the armies on both sides take time to rest and recharge, there is still a mission to complete, and another chapter to write. The secret of Sheehan is still intact but the invading forces have no intention of leaving it that way. As teams fortify themselves in this area that has not been fought on in some time, there is a larger battle on the horizon, many more objectives to achieve, and a victory awaiting someone. The invading forces have won this battle, but the war is far from over. Another chapter will be decided in Operation: Static Line.

Operation: Static Line

Guardians Report

We have pulled our forces back in attempt to see just why our new visitors are here. They have come with more force than we originally expected. We are preparing to launch an alternative plan in an attempt to disable them. We believe our communications are being monitored so we will communicate further through our field agents. We will need a new place to operate from.

More info to follow…

Specter Report

We have pushed the Guardians back into the woods. We are currently learning more about the area including some previously undiscovered equipment. Our engineers are working to make these pieces operational again. We have yet to discover this weapon we believe they have. Has it been moved? The most current scans still show it in the area, though our signal is getting weaker. Either the weapon is moving underground or something is interfering with our monitoring equipment. We will try to set up more localized monitoring equipment. There will be a report back to our base of operations when we have established communications with the new equipment.

Specter Commander, Out.
