Since there was a gun topic I figured I should start the edged weapon topic.
So who ever wants to start this off go for it.
If you can't hack it, then I suggest you pack it!
I'm on it like white on rice, with a glass of milk in a snow storm.
Doesn't matter what gun you have, as long as you can hit what you're looking at.

Im pretty handy with a blade...2 years on my college fencing team, foil & epee'. I also got pretty good at renaissance-style rapier & dagger (sword in right hand, long knife in left). I only have one decent sword at the moment - a swept hilt rapier with an ok quality sparring blade. Had it for decades, havnt used it in years. But back in the day...

I also have an antique bayonet....a genuine 1909 Enfield Mk 2.

I've got a small penchant for cane swords.

Personally, I would love to get a Balisong.

As for the ones I own, I have a Scottish Claymore, a Rapier, and Schiavona, a Dirk (scottish short dagger), along with an assortment of old knives, mostly inherited.
Paintball isn't my hobby, it's my lifestyle. Go hard or go home.

Gladius all the way.

~ Believe me, dear Sir: there is not in the American states a man who more cordially loves a union with his country than I do. But, by the God that made me, I will cease to exist before I yield to a connection on such terms as the United States Congress proposes; and in this, I think I speak the sentiments of America. ~ Thomas Jefferson (modernized)

Edged weapons all the way. Guns take the thrill out of the kill, blades are so much more personal, I love them. Always have.
I used to have a set of Samurai swords (display daishō) and a pair of sai. Had to sell them ages ago to help pay rent. Posted Image

What I'd really like to do is build a forge and make my own Katana, fold the steel repeatedly (10-15 times), sharpen and polish with the traditional Japanese stones.

Odachi.

Like the Katana or 'roids.

Of course, for a more practical blade I prefer the Tachi.

Traditional Katanas sized for Asian men were always a bit small for me. The Tachi always fit my proportions better.

(quote-Iron Eagle) This is why my preferred way of death is strapping a bomb to myself, walking into PETA HQ and detonating it.
(Quote-weltmaker2000) I don't call my guns pumps. I refer to them as euthanizers of the stupid.

I like any swords/knifes/maces that I can throw and are on fire.

Anyone else ever been involved in fencing or have formal training with a blade?
