Whats up guys for those of you who have read some of my previous posts know I had an Etek Ego. Well I sold it for money towards a new car, and I really want to upgrade to the EGO family if you will. Now I have heard alot of hype about the Ego8 and it sounds like a great gun, but what are the differences between the Ego7 and Ego8. If I went with the 7 i could get it sooner, the 8 would take about a month longer than the 7 to save up for. So long story short is the 08 worth the extra $$$?

Just get the 07...

The look almost the same and it will shoot just as nice.

I mean if you have the money get the 08 but its kind of a waste of money unless your pretty hardcore into the tourney scene if its just for rec ball then an 08 ego is gunna be waay overkill.

Peace,
Teddy K

The 08 is a bit better with the zick kit and the smaller and lighter parts, but the 07 is just fine.

just go 07, they all lose huge amounts of value after their year anyways. You could wait till 09, and get an 08 if you really want one :P

More than likely it will be for rec, and the occasional tourney. Truthfully I dont care about the .1-6 ounces lighter the 08 is than the 07, since I am used to my A-5. I want consistency, accuracy(yes i know alot has to do with paint and bore match), reliability, and ease of maintenence.

They both require the same routine maintenance....nothing

I mean I guess you could lube the ram or lpr occasionally but you dont really need to do anything else.

You wont notice much differnce in shooting...they both use microswithes so I would say 07.

Peace,

The Ego8 shoots a lot smoother with the zick kit. You will notice a big difference.

Eh...

I have shot and ego7 and ego8 back to back and you dont notice much...

Maybe im just not as picky...regardless its cheeper to get and 07 and buy zick kit if he doesnt like how it shoots than to just buy an 08...

Kick does not matter to me, like i said I shoot a Tippmann A-5 modded out most of the time, so this will probably be a big step up. I just dont want to pay 400-500 dollars more for milling, and a zick kit.
