huh? ok? what? your kiddig, cheese! I feel so much better

he didnt. he did? wow, who would have thought. I once loved this song thank god i dont now

"Gentlemen, we have the technology, we have the funds, we have rebuilt him. We have made him stronger, tougher, and better than before. He is now the supreme of his kind, all other bow before him and any that shall disagree with the minor power of a post shall be struck down by a mighty force that will unjustifiably ban you from this existance"
- never could remember who quoted that but its so true.

thats right kids, im starting a project blog-ish thing here and you can spend you time reading it,. or not but if your not then you dont know the secret word (its bagel)

My A5 needs a paintjob, i guess ol' number 000719 just couldnt hold up the outershell anymore, well it could but that would be no fun.

as you can see i got the shell seperated and set to commit chemical warfare on whats left of the bubbling coat of paint that infests the otherwise healthy body. should be a simple project but given my curse in life (family and about 20 other worthwhile things i should be doing right now) it will probally take till near the end of the year. Good thing snow, cold and guys infesting the woods with guns and pointed sticks crawling in the woods, and no i dont just mean me on a quite day.
couple of things frustrate me with getting this project started
1: I want the take the barrel out of the flatline shroud for the painting process but currently clueless as to how. WITHOUT cutting or otherwise destroying any part of the shroud.

2: no clue as to how im going to paint this yet. should be a bigger problem but not for me, constantly winging this kind of thing. kinda like the A-team van stripe, or that snakeskin pin topic but not in camo, im not going to camo my A5, maybe just the generic paint 'streaks' ..... any ideas?

planning to get some good practice with my new camera during this adventure into ...... er...... uhm..... well cant be creative all the time with my ramblings.

so gentlemen... BEHOLD!

Just to clarify there are two rear screws for him to remove. One that holds the shroud to the endcap, that screws into hte marker. And one on the endcap piece on the bottom that holds the flatline in place and alignment. So you need to remove both to pull it out.

so it really is the just grab and tug method.
always my first option but usually ends up with something broken/stripped.
but come on guys, no help on a paint scheme, thought we were buds, but maybe you really dont care about me.

That snakeskin method is boss. It's basically a great way to be lazy & still produce a nice paintjob - it really doesn't require a whole lot of work compared to doing a digi or tigerstripe pattern. Do not just do the random paint stripes... if you like your marker, doll it up right.

Good luck w/ the project. Looking forward to the progress pics.

Ever play Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries? There were some pretty sick (and unique!) paint schemes available for your mechs in that game. I doubt you'd be able to find pictures of them anywhere though... which means you'd have to own the game or know someone who does...

Other than that, I'd love to see that snakeskin pattern in some colors other than camo for a change. Not sure what colors though...

well they aint black no more

finally got around to drippin some chemical jello goo stuff that really burns the skin (ill explain later) and did some scrubbing with first a nylon brush, it died in the process then the old brass brush that older then becc, or some other young kid.

in the process of scrubbing a minor little speck of paint ended up on my arm and a minute later it was starting to burn a bit and cause some general discomfort, no marks or anything remain but it certainly makes the story of this paint job seem more dramatic since i technically did get hurt in the process.

(side note to myself, next time a member gets the special ban use paint remover on skin of thighs while subject tied to art stool)

now the chem wasnt perfect, got some minor spots of resistance still to remove, scraped some, sanded others and right now just waiting for my dremel battery to recharge so i can cheat and use a device more advanced then toothbrush tech.

pretty sure at this time im going to use the snakeskin idea for the paint job and probally blue under black, i gotta do a few tests first but thats another day. really guys im not purposly slacking off on this project but why did i pick the start of retail hell season to do this?
