Im new to paintball, I have played a few times with friends guns (all woodsball). I decided Im gunna buy a gun but I am really tight on money cus Im buying a car and paying insureance. I dont want to spend over 200 alll together for a marker, mask, ect. I read alot of stuff in the new players forum and I think a spyder would be good cus I am mainly looking for reliability and I take good care of all my stuff. I found a Used Spyder E-99 for around 80 bucks and I was wondering if that was a good deal and a good marker to buy used.

Yup, it's fine. The only brand I would seriously suggest staying away from is Brass Eagle. Spyder's are good guns, just take care of it: clean it, oil it after every game (if it needs it)...etc...etc.
I have a Spyder TLX, cost me 80 bucks brand new and it works great. Welcome to the sport, and to the forums!!

For under $200, you could get an entire Tippmann 98C Setup. If you want to spend under $150, for a gun that basically shoots the same but is a little less durable and less upgradable, then I'd recommend a 2006 Spyder Xtra ($85), with Proto Switch EL's costing $30, 20oz. CO2 costing $15, Ricochet Hopper costing $10, and I believe that's about it. Markers usually come with a Barrel Sock, but if not, ou can buy one for under $5. DO NOT buy a Barrel Plug, though, because they are no longer allowed on fields. Make sure it's a Barrel Sock/Cover/Condom.

Hope this helped, feel free to PM me if you have any more questions :(

BTW: Gold_Eagle rules, but Brass Eagle does not :D

DO NOT GET IT OFF EBAY!!! you will have nothing but problems. Get you gun from a paintball shop. And, most spyders are pretty much the same internally, they just look differant. And if your getting an electric hopper(which you should) get the empire reloader II instead of the revolution.

Thats debatable. Tippmanns confine you to the woods.

Unless, of course, you buy an E-Trigger or a Response Trigger. But he's playing with his friends in the woods anyways, so what does it matter?

No, not off ebay. You also don't need a 12V Revy, all you need is a Gravity-Fed Hopper, like the Ricochet G2K in my above post. For $20 more, you can get a brand new Spyder Xtra, which is what I would recommend in your case. Either that or save up the money for the Tippmann Package. The Proto Switch EL is also arguably the best beginner's mask out there, less than $30.
