Durablity: 10/10
Installation: 4/10
Functionality: 15/10 (Yes, it's that good.....)
Looks: 7/10
(It's NOT a stock for mil-slim-er's ;) ) (Good thing I'm not into all that huh?? ;) )

The purpose of this stock is to get your nogg-in behind your A-5 so you can ACTUALLY SIGHT DOWN THE BARREL. So, the question you'll ask will be; "Does it work?".
YES!

This stock has improved my game by an addtional 50% AT LEAST.
Anyone who owns an A-5 should look into getting this thing, it's a no-brainer.

Downsides are:
When I took the stock out of the box I was very impressed to be totally honest........................................until.............................................

I tried to put it on my gun....... :(

The holes for the field strip pins didn't line up. I couldn't fit both pins through at all.
So I borrowed my dad's metal drill and carefully bored(SP) out the holes which took me awhile, because I didn't want to ruin my brand new product......
My stock MAY have been a bad apple, I don't know for sure.

Anything that I buy that needs me to spend time WORKING on it right-out-of-the-box, really degrades my "Happy" factor........

As for the looks, I could care less what other people think about the way I look in everyday life OR in paintball gear.
Besides, I think this bad boy looks ULTRA-GROOVY-BABY!!!!!!!!!!! B)

Overall rating IMO: 7 and a half out of 10
Even though it's a low rating, I still recomend this stock to anyone who has an A-5.

God Bless,
Doc

7.5 isn't what I'd call a low rating. 1-4 would be low.

I'm suprised you didn't try to return it or see if the mis-alignment is normal.

One question though: is this the left or right hand dogleg?

Oh sorry, right hand.

The alighnment wasn't off by much, 2-3 mm or so. I'm not big on 'returning things' if I can make it work, I will.

Do you have one Puz?

Nope. Don't even hae an A-5. But I do know of someone that's decked thier A-5 out in a nice sniper motif. He's a lefty and has been looking for a stock.

I was hoping for a lefty review before I suggest it to him.

Same here, the holes on mine didn't line up either, I had to work on them to get them in but mines air through and keeps leaking B) but I posted that in gun-tech but overall I don’t care what I look like as long as I'm not the one walking off the field with paint all over them. B)

every special ops stock I own felt like the holes were not lined up rite and would take a lot of pushing on the stock as well as the pin but after a year or so of use the stock is still sturdy and becomes easy to put on so the tight and being hard to put on is just to keep it sturdy longer if you bore the holes out it will just become woabbly sooner.

Didn't have any problems installing mine. Tight fit? Yes, but the holes were lined up correctly. One difference is that I got the air-thru version to replace my A2 stock. The air nipple is better placed and now at an angle so going prone is much easier instead of crimping and burying my air line in the ground. I also like that it's a touch longer than most stocks so my arms don't feel so cramped against my body.

My one complaint is that attaching a sling isn't that easy to do ( compared to the A2 stock that is. ) Before I could just wrap a strap around the narrow part and be done with it. However, some ingenuity mixed with a D-ring, nylon clamp, and spacer pin proved to be VERY effective.

If I buy the regular A-5A2 and the dogleg RH stock only with the air through stock, would they be hard to switch out? Like if I wanted my a5-a2 to look nice with the regular stock to show off, and then switch it out when i want performance(better sight) insted. Is that possible?

If they're both air through, no they won't be hard to switch out. the macroline runs the same way. If one is air-through and one requires something different ( say stock bottomline ) then it won't be terribly quick to switch them.

geez sorry its just a really old thread my bad guys.

and i guess it would be too hard unless your actually changing the air thru part out but if you got non air thru it would be pretty easy to switch

Not really. The question was perfectly pertinent to the thread topic and contributed to the discussion, unlike your remark which did neither. I don't understand some people. New forum members show up, ask the same questions nearly all new players do, and they get ragged on for not searching. Then if they do search, they'll find older threads and ask their questions there. When they do they get ragged on for necro-posting. You can't have it both ways.
