Tourney went good today, took first even though there was only 1 other team. I want a bigger tank, but I dunno.

@ least you didnt have to play 1v3 lol.

Hey dudes I know you already added us on FB but i had to make a new page. Please add the new one http://www.facebook....64201296949384. Thanks guys!

True, would not of been fun indeed.
You gas up the marker, put on the gloves, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last night, or that you got a ticket on the way there...your world is right for the next couple hours, this is your heaven on earth... live it... love it...

PSP rule change!

Quote

• Lengthen the field 10 feet per side (Total size will now be 120 x 170 feet)
• Eliminate Pit-side coaching and communication
• Field Layouts will not be released prior to the events
• Adjust position of bunkers to better suit a wider variety of players
• Adjust classification system for D1 – Pro, now that the Semi-Pro division is absent

Not really sure how I feel about field layouts not being released. The rest seems cool.

that means that teams that have the ability to recreate the field every time they play wont have that advantage over teams without that ability. It levels the playing field and allows the best skilled team to win, not the one that has memorized the run to the snake and all the critical lanes.

They should what a 2011 season layout will look like. They said bigger bunkers and different layouts, so what car washes?

And the teams with the first matches are going to have a disadvantage to teams who can watch other teams play and watch how the layout plays.

this is also true. but i would think the teams would be able to walk the field the day of or even practice right before (like at the olympics...all the courses are different so they have practices there)

This is definitely what should happen. At least give a small hint so you have some clue as to what's coming, even if you don't know the exact layout.

I don't think they are going to bring back the monster car washes. I seem to remember reading they were specificaly stating bigger bunkers in the back portions of the fields.
So you will see larger diameter cyclinders, starting bunkers and possibly i would think tombstones for the 20's.

I do know that some ofthe stuff I have seen I could not stand up straight behind and the trend seemed to be smaller over the last few years.
Companies like Ultimate Air have been advertising their larger bunkers for a while now...maybe they finally had an influence.

I don't really mind this. It'll show who is actually the better team. Instead of playing a layout to death you will have to do more drilling. It could also be bad if they release something like MAO or that snake where it was a square.

Is anyone playing PSP this year?

I do actually, and I prefer it the way they're changing it to.

My team actually lost in the top 8 at MAO, World Cup and Phoenix playing teams that practice each format 2+ times a week. The day before the first matches (typically Wed) all fields are up and any player can walk them.

The biggest thing they need to work on cutting out is the sideline coaching on the fan side. By not releasing the layout, they will reduce it a bit. One team we play has like a dozen parents that hold up signs that say what bunker we're at, number of players, etc. It's horse crap in my book. If tournaments want to become legit, they need to start having them sanctioned a little better. I mean how many football games do you go to where a whole section tells one team what offensive play or defensive set is being called?

I do have to say that MAO was by far the best layout I've played in years. I don't know how many times I ran down the dorito side bunkerin 2-3 people a time. With the A on one side, no one could see you till you passed the 50.

Oh btw, if anyone wants to learn a little something bout agg, or just have a good read check this out.

They are not going to stop the sideline coaching. Just to hard to police it ...so they will allow it.

Far easier for them to keep a coach out of the pit box.

they could help minimize sideline coaching by putting the stands on the short ends...that way they could only see what the players see
