Just a piddly ol e4. Nothin special. I got in a really crappy situation back in 2005 just before they started all the downsizing efforts and got screwed afterwards when I was tryin to gain rank. I was doing great on my evals, pt, and pretty decent on my advancement exams. They were just tryin to force people to higher-tenyur (sp?) out and I got caught up in all that. It was so jacked up when I was getting out that the advancement percentages for cm2 when I got out were something like 3%. Then the cycle after that, it was 0% accross the board. Pretty rough.

Damn that is awful. I get advanced to E4 in a little less than a month. I can't wait :]

Piddly old E-4? Respect the e-4, does all the work (and then some) of an E-5 with none of the credit, and all the blame.

The Specialist's Creed:
No one gets away with more than I. I am a non Non-Commissioned Officer, a beast of burden. As a junior enlisted soldier I realize that I am a member of an under appreciated, much chastised group of soldiers which is known as the ribcage, or perhaps pancreas, of the Army.

I am proud of myself and my fellow Specialists and will continue to b*&%#, whine and sham until the absolute last second regardless of the mission at hand. I will use my grade and position to avoid responsibility, accountability and any sense of presence of mind.

Ignorance is my watchword. My two best excuses will always be on the tip of my tongue "I didn't know," and "It wasn't me." I will strive to remain invisible and unavailable for details. Never ever volunteer for anything is my rallying cry.

I am aware of my role as a SPC and if you need me for anything, I'll be on appointment. I know the other soldiers, and I will always refer to them by their first name or in some cases derogatory nickname. On weekends, or days off I will consistently drink myself into oblivion, and I will never answer my phone. I understand that for a person in my hierarchal position, rewards are going to be few and far between, and punishment will always be swift and severe.

Officers of my unit will have maximum time to accomplish their duties, because I will be accomplishing them for them. I will kiss up to their face and badmouth them behind their back, just like everyone else. I will be loyal to those with home I serve, provided there's something in it for me. I am the last bastion of common sense that stands between me and the Army philosophy of "Work Harder, Not Smarter." My voice is a tool and my complaints are a weapon that I wield with unmatched skill and finesse. I will not forget, nor will I allow my comrades to forget, Specialist is the greatest rank in the Army and rank has its privileges.

I remember the good old days when you could post pretty much anything, pretty much anywhere in here and have 12 responses by lunch.

Now I post and wait a couple days for a few responses... kinda sad.

Then again, maybe I'm just not very popular haha!

Anyway, what's the deal? Anyone shanghai their command into replacing redguns with paintball guns yet? Is that guy that wants to go VBSS still hanging around?

I know right? I was gone for a while and I come back and seems like half of the forum members were wiped out by some unknown evil force  oh nvm that evil force is called the economy -.-"

Hope it picks up when the economy recovers (doubt that will happen..)

Oh and since we are talking about military members well I am not in the military yet but I am hoping to become a Marine Officer in the future and a pilot or infantry officer.
My military experience so far has been graduating from the marine military academy as a Major and a company commander.

What's that mean? He's graduated but doesn't have orders, or something? I don't think they had that when I went through. I went from graduated to working round the clock to keep some 20 year old scrap heap of a Frigate from blowing up and sinking its self in 48 hours flat. Master Chief said, "You know what Frigate's are for? They get in the way of the torpedo before it hits the carrier..."

Aren't you Navy too Shadow?
