Recently, I have been seeing more and more people talking about their gun, and calling it the wrong name.

For example, an ebay listing is going on right now for A TAC ONE LONGBOW. The title is Special Ops AGD Longbow Sniper Gun. I asked the seller a question and in the question I used Tac One. He went on to tell me that the gun is called AGD. I am trying to explain to him the AGD, AirGun Designs, is the company, not the marker itself.

I have seen a few others as well, but they are high priced guns! If you have a Tac One, shouldn't you know its a Tac One! I can see if its someone new to paintball with a Tippmann and they call it a BT or something, but a Tac One or something like an Ego.

Maybe I am the only one seeing this, but what are your guys and girls thoughts on this?

Thanks.

Ebay is full of that sort of thing. So is Kijij and Craigslist. I just can't tell if it's actual ignorance or someone trying to scam newbies.

heh this is funny because whenever I look to buy a new marker I get worried if I don't know it inside and out.

and the simple answer is mommy buys her little munchkin a new toy and little munchkin uses and abuses it not knowing anything about it and not caring as well.
seen it a million times and each time I die a little on the inside.

Yup. I get that a lot, when I went to play outlaw, a nooblet asked me if my Duckslide was the new Tippmann pistol. I think I shot him for that.

Some people buy guns with little interest in what it actually is, or how to maintain it.

Can you die a little on the outside too?

Anyway, it sounded like a Tac One. It is a Tac One...with a longbow kit. Dosen't change the markers name. Still thought it was funny how he thought AGD was marker, yet put Tac One on the auction.

I just call them all mags, because apparently the name chances when you put a new body on it.

He said he thought it was a dye made marker because of the sticky grips now that was funny.

A lot of EBay sales are people buying and selling anything they think they can get at a good price locally to sell on to EBay, or EBay users being asked to sell things on other peoples behalf.

'Special Ops AGD Longbow Sniper Paintball Gun' is not misrepresenting the marker so this is in no way scamming purchasers. The chances are this is a person who has obtained it to sell on and has ersearched it enough to find out it is from Spec Ops, e.g. http://shop.specialopspaintball.com/specia...ongbow-kit.html

Why complain if you can get a bargain yourself?

I had someone ask if I'd be willing to sell my PGP. Problem is, I don't have a PGP, I have a P68 Magnum. And thats another thing, I hate it when people ask me if I will sell something. NO! <_<
