I just started paintball last year and bought the crappiest gun on the market. I wanted to buy a new one for this year and narrowed my choices down to the above markers. They are within my budget and have the kind of Characteristic i like in a gun. i know there are probably much better options but like i said im cheap. input on the subject would be much appreciated :dodgy:

I recommend a SP Vibe

or if your set on getting a Tippmann, then get a 98

and no dont get a A5, cyclones arent all that great, they chop alot and arent worth the extra cash imo

SP1 or Vibe if you can get HPA.

If CO2 is a must and/or you must have a mechanical, get the BT4. Tippmanns just aren't made like they used to.

the thing about the vibe is just, i dont really need an electro and i would prefer something with weavers or at least a dovetail.

I agree with Thalion, even though the Vibe/SP-1 platform can handle C02, you won't be able to gain its true potential unless you have air. If you do have air, I'd recommend that you get the Vibe over the SP-1, for the one reason that it is cheaper. Same gun, just cheaper because it doesn't have the mil-sim body. If you can't get HPA, then go with the BT-4, it is better made than today's Tippmanns, and it's cheaper.

EDIT: The SP-1 is an electro, and honestly, a laser, flashlight, sniper scope, bi-pod, red dot sight, and other mil-sim things aren't going to help you.

I voted on the SP-1. Its fast shooting, reliable, and easy to clean and feild strip. An aftermarket barrel would be nice and a electronic hopper is a needed upgrade. It has a nice "Milsim" look if your into that stuff.

well there were only a few people really against it but besides, i dont have the funds necessary to get an A5. really i was set on buying one 4 quite a while but 1) dovetails arent my favorite, and 2) the clamshell design has a lot of bad rep

If you can get HPA, the SP-1 is the hands down winner. Will you need a new loader? Yes. Will it serve you better in the long run? Hell yea.

Here is a list of Pros and Cons of each marker that I've made since this topic comes up SOOOOOOOOO much.

SP1
pros:
light
smooth
stock barrel is decent
quiet
able to accept a stock

cons:
can't accept useless bolt-on upgrades to make it look like a Barret .50 cal
Center feed, you can't put a red dot on top of it only to find out that you can't see through it because your stock is in the way.

A5
pros:
Stock barrel has absolutely no porting as far as I know, so the loudness will scare the crap out of new players.
You can make it look like an AK to achieve the effect mentioned above.
Offset feed so you can put a red dot on top only to find out that you can't see though it because of you stock being in the way.

cons:
heavy
blow back makes a bit of a "chunk" noise when fired, so, less smooth
loud
really bad stock barrel

The A5 is comparable to any Tippmann or Tippmann clone, such as the BT4.
