ALWAYS check for ticks when you get home. Go into the bathroom, and undress completley. Check everywhere, everywhere. Yes even there. Ticks love to hide in small, dark spots. Underarms, groin, thighs, ears, neck, etc. Get someone to look behind your ears and on the back of your neck.

Removal of thorn bushes and vines. We have lots of these things here in MD and I'm not sure exactly what they are called. There is one central root and it has lots of vines with thorns growing out, they climb trees and get everywhere. When the vine touches the ground, it springs new roots and more vines grow from this new central root. They are also notoriously hard to kill. The only thing that I have found that does the trick is this stuff at Home Depot called "Total Vegetation Killer", I sware, that stuff could take the chrome off a car bumper.

I second removal of thorn bushes. At my outlaw field, the thorns are about 1/2-3/4 inches long. One run through them completely destroyed my old BDUs, as well as leaving TONS of long scratches. Not fun at all.

1. Know the area you are playing in. Always do a walk around first in areas you haven't played before to identify hazards.

2. USE 911- the ONLY time you should be trying to do First Aid other than minor cuts and bruises is to prevent the loss of life, limb, or eye sight. The reason for this is 1. You'll more than likely agrivate the injury causing more pain and damage and 2. the first thing paramedics are goingto do is cut off what ever you put on to see what's wrong.

4. Take a first aid class.
