I play mainly outdoors. I don't really play a lot of REAL woodsball it's mainly just bunkers, a few trees and a couple of old houses. I actually have an a-5 with e-grip and flatline. I just want to know becauseeveryone raves about the ion and my tippmann dousn't work well on compressed air with the flaline. I do play in sligt rain sometimes and the gun I play with does get bumped and stuff but i doo take care of it. please tell me reasons.

Well, usually paintball is outdoors. Since you sound as though you aren't going to be abusing your gun or anything, you should probably go with the Ion. It is fast and efficient. Even though I would choose the A-5, you sound as though you would probably want an Ion. Then again, it is your opinion.

Respect to the A5 - it's a tank - the Ion is an excellent platform. It's efficient, lightweight, durable and quiet out of the box. Any upgrades you do just make it better.

You might also consider an Automag if you want a mechanical gun with similar performance and upgradability and an electro option or an SP-8 which is an Ion variant with a mil-sim shell and an offset feed neck.

Stick with the A5. Like I am.

I really wanted to get an Ion though.
