now keep in mind i dont expect to win any awards for this. its a low cost mp 40 shell for an ion.

What i did was take a $25 airsoft mp40 and gut the insides out so the ion fits inside it. i plan on getting a larger barrel and maybee fabricating an mp 40 style front sight. theres a lack of German WW2 weapons out there. but theres a million ak 47s m 16s ect. but the funny thing is the biggest scenario games are WW2 based. anyway this is cheap and anyone who want to do it cant go wrong for the $$

it doesn't look bad, but it would look amazing if you could find a way to fit the regulator in the magazine. thats the only thing that doesn't look good. otherwise a nice soft mod

It's not bad, but it's not great, try to get the reg out of the picture, and a lot of people are into using the airsoft grip/frame, and relocating the trigger inside of it.

Cool concept and a very good start but I think a few things could be improved. The reg and trigger can be moved just about anywhere you want, literally. The reg dropping down in front of the trigger makes it look like...well...a paintball gun. My monitor here at work is junk, so I can't tell for certain, but is that the Ion frame that's being used? Lose it. The trigger can be relocated or you can run a new trigger to the airsoft body's original trigger.

I take it you have thought outside the box and gone the simple mod way - Put a whole Ion into an airsoft frame!!! Simple but effective, and you can easily revert to your Ion.

The next stage would be to strip the Ion out of its body, then you can extend the air lines to fit the regulator in the MP40 body, e.g. in the magazine or horizontaly mounted.

I had the same idea floating in my head about doing an MP40 when I was at an Airsoft Store the other day (looking for AK47 RIS parts) and the only brand of marker that kept coming up was an AGD Minimag or a Pro Classic, but the thing is...Airsoft MP40's arent cheap, except the Clear Plastic one's and there is no way in Hell I would get that one.

eh, its alright, i would try to use an a-5 instead because you can take off the front grip, and just run the air up to the gun instead of a braided line. but it alls up to you. its your gun

It looks decent.
Not bad but not great. Hide the reg and it would look great.

 figured it was only a matter of time before this was done. lol nicejob, but the regulater looks a bit weird being behind the magazine, but i really dont see anyway around that without some heavy modding.
