When me and my friends get together, we always play a survival game one on one! It is a blast! We wanted to do teams but since we only have 4 to 10 players max, this was more fun. What are your thoughts on survival style games? Like? Dislike? If you have never played, get a bunch of friends and try it out!

I'm not a huge fan of free for all. But it is fun from time to time to mix things up.

I don't enjoy them, people tend to just camp and wait because those who move get shot. The games can last forever, and there is no real objective. I would rather play 4 v 4 myself. That is a great number of players.

I enjoy Free for All's on occasion. I don't push for them or anything, but I'm always willing to play if someone else is. I like operating on my own and stalking someone else who is doing the same.

Ya I see what you mean by camping but we do it in a corn field in the spring and fall. I pull two or three wagons from our farm out there and use them for bunkers. Who ever gets to the center bunker and grabs the flag first wins. In the summer, we go into my woods and do the same thing (without the wagons). The camping problems is solved by giving the incentive.

I've never actually done that with more than 2 players but it sounds like a blast.

I play free for all often as I'm often in the same situation where 10 people say they'll come and then theres 4 of you standing in the woods. We have developed a few games to fit this group size.

The first is where everyone has a flag or some kind of item (use whatever you have) which you give up to whoever shoots you out. Then you just go to a nearby hill and respawn. Whoever gets all the flag first wins. This game I found really eliminated camping as there no need to hid euntil you've almost won. Everyone else meanwhile is scurying to find the winner fast before the claim the last flag. It works well.

Also have some non free-for all games designed for small numbers.
Assassin only takes 3 where one person hides along a route and may have a limited number of shots and trys to take out the others as they make there way along the route. The tension is killer.
Zombies works well also, just played for the first time with 4 people. One alpha zombie start who can only be killed with a headshot while the survivers run around and try not to be turned into zombies. I ended up the last man hidden in a bush 3 feet from all 3 zombie armed with only a pistol. Undortunatly after ten mineutes when i made my move i took a pounding.
You can easily convert other games into smaller number games by limitng the play area.I make due with an average of 5 people a weekend and heave a great time
