I really like the bolt-out-back design and I just picked up an original Ion that obviously does not have this feature. I can't get it back together but aside from that why couldn't you slice off the back of the original Ion body and make a ghetto bolt-out-back design? Is it because the back bolt sits in a little groove in the body and locks into place?

At www.ionownersgroup.com several have "made" BOB Ions. With the advent of companies coming out with BOB such as Deadlywind and the XE conversion kit it's not as appealing as it used to be.

its the way the bolt sits in the firing can I believe. I think there might be an extremely ghetto way of doing it, but I would never try it with my ion. If you need help to get it back together, look no further ion assemble/disassembly video

Alright then. I got it back together I just had to widen a hole. Force gets everything to fit, it just doesn't always fix it.

The last banjo fitting screws into the donut at the end,and you have to undo that banjo fitting before you can unscrew the firing can and get the bolt.figure out a way to do that and you are all set.

Shouldn't need to widen any holes, especially if it fit when it was together before.
What hole did you widen?

I must say, that kind of made me hungry. But yeah, something isn't right if you had to widen a hole.. did you change anything or put something in wrong?

Edit: BAg idk how to quote lol. The first part is supposed to be on Desacrators post.
