Lol how did you fail the easiest part of the test? Do weighted sit ups until your abs physically can't lift you up anymore. Then lay there for 30 seconds and repeat until it feels like someone literally stabbed you in the stomach. I use my ankle weights because they're soft. You can always do inclined or inverted situps too. It will be a lot faster than doing regular ones.
