my friend is selling his ion for $70 with a lotta ups. the only prob is that the only way to turn it off is to totally take out the battery. but there is this guy who works at my local gun shop in the paintball section who is on team dynasty and i will see if he knows how to fix it. im pretty sure there is something else wrong with it too. oh well, he said if you can work the bugs outa it you'll be in great shape. but is it worth the money? help me here...

It depends what all is wrong with it and what the upgrades are.

The same button that turns it off is the one that turns it on....so if you need to remove the battery to turn it off then how do you turn it on? Also this same button is necessary to adjust the board settings. You are going to have to be a little more specific with the problem is the board actually damaged or is there a problem with the sticker that smart parts uses to activite the switch?

The ion on/off is funny. It's very moody. So it might work and your friend is doing something wrong. Again it depends on the upgrades. You can find boards for $50.

smart parts grips red

new asa
and a couple of others. he had an 18 in freak for it but sold it. i think he has a shocktech bolt, not sure, but to be on the safe side i would buy a firebolt for it

if you have the money for that then you should have almost enough for a steel HPA tank. save up and get the HPA. youll do better in the long run.

To add, when shutting it off you need to hold it until the light is solid then release. It makes no sense that the button will turn it on but not off it is highly likely that he is doing something wrong....

Just get a super cheap steel HPA tank, my friend ran his Ion on Co2 for awhile and it gave him nothing but trouble. After he upgraded to HPA it's a great gun when taken good care of.
