If there was a fire in your house and the first thing you would grab was your paintball gear, put this in your sig.

Very first thing to do is replace the battery

Second, examine your air source - is your tank empty, on/off not turned all the way, etc? What type of on/off do you use?

try these, and report back

ION problem = battery (more often then not)

Second like he said check you air. If tanks full and ASA is free of debris, try even unscrewing it by 1/8th to 1/4 a turn and see if it helps. Some bottles have a thicker lip around the output nipple and on certain ASA's (tippman) they can sometimes block the air inlet slightly that will prevent fast recharge rates.

Hold up, you said it was all stock, so it doesn't have a QEV? And your dwell is at 30? That's way too low. The solenoid doesn't have enough time to vent off the air from the front-section of the firing chamber when it fires, and the next cycle begins when the solenoid is still venting. It causes a kind of "back up" in the solenoid when it fires because air cannot get to the front-section of the firing chamber. The result? Doesn't alwasy cycle, inconsistent, makes strange noises, drops off, etc.

Raise your dwell to about 45-50, replace your battery, and make sure your bolt is lubed up.

The dwell is too low. As you say it is stock, set your dwell to 48- that should fix it.

Yep...and it's acting up because it's too low. Even at 48, the likelyhood of it operating 100% properly is slim...

Sgt...
There's a reason why the manufacturer set it to 52 blinks. Put it back to that until you install a GOOD QEV (Clippard) and lighter/higher flowing bolt. Trust me when I say..."I know what I'm talking about" - Here's minezez...lol...

haha Druid you just wanted an excuse to show off your marker :)

but he is 100% correct you need a higher dwell to give your bolt enough time to blow air and cycle fully
and besides the higher dwell will allow you to lower the operating pressure of your bolt making it easier on brittle paint.

and I would fully recommend the clippard QEV Deadly Wind says that they sell one based off of the Clippard however when I recieved it there were big letters on the side saying Clippard. so it would seem they sell the actual clippard

Tip time!

Once you have purchased a good QEV, don't lower your dwell to the lowest possible setting unless you are having an ROF contest. I have my dwell at 20, even though it can go all the way down to 14. I always use my recharge to adjust my ROF.

Ooops- I was thinking the stock setting was 48... I was mistaken, I should have suggested 52. And of course, your recharge rate is just as important. Most times the Ion makes a "chuugh chuugh" sound and velocity is way down, it's dwell or recharge.
