EDIT: I found the problem. It turns out that I wasn't suppose to completely connect the battery when trying to switch the modes. Basically I was just pluggin in the battery while holding the trigger not allowing it to switch modes. Facepalm :(

Are you sure it has the new board? Originally they were just semi.

Maybe it's best to contact SP so they can varify it.

Edit: Doh - is there a tourney lock on it?

Sometimes tourney locks are a circuit completing box, mine was in a Spyder Pilot ACS. It simply pulled out, and slid back in to unlock.
I am amazed that I spend countless hours on this site yet only post during a small percentage of that time.

Attach one of the charges on the battery to the corresponding on the inupt (you pick which). Hold down the trigger as you turn the battery to make contact with the remaining connection. This should turn off tourney lock. Now connect your battery and depress the fire mode. You should get single light, 3 blinking, continuous. THe directions are in your manual or check youtube.
