Today was extremely hot. There were no clouds in the sky and the temp peeked at 97.6 degrees. We went kayaking down the river, I wore sun screen, well guess what, it doesn't work. I was out on the stream for about 3 hours and Im as red as a bright red crayon. It hurts, it burns, itches, ect. Now im wondering how long it will last? I dont remember getting this sun burnt before and it really hurts. Any help, remedies, or comments would be great. I cant post pictures because the forum women might get jealous

Put lotion on it...

It helps...you will need to reapply like once every twenty min if its really that bad..

Trust me it helps...and if you do it until the sunburn goes away instead of peeling youll have a hot tan teh ladiez will love.

Peace,
Teddy K

The wife is/was in the same boat. Since I had the SPF30 stuff with me and the boy yesterday she used some SPF4 that she found... and it was out of date to boot. Needless to say she was extremely red yesterday too.

She has some Aloe Vera Gel from Avon., I'm sure you can find something similar. We applied it 3 times yesterday, about 3 hour intervals, and twice today. She's not nearly as red as she was.

Get a Lotion with Aloe Vera, it will help you skin to heal faster and be less irritating.

As for how long your Sun Burn it will last....you'll know, when youre shedding your old and dead skin like a snake.

Its Good to be an Island Boy, we dont get burned you like you Paled Skinned Americanos....we develope a Deep Tan that the ladies Love.

Banana Boat makes an Aloe Vera Gel stuff... it's a pale kid's best friend!
it's green and has a yellow lid if you're looking for the bottle @ Wal-mart...
Also Solarcaine is a spray that has a topical anesthetic and aloe in it, it works Really Well, but it's rather expensive...

get less lobster-like for us!

:hawaiian:

Also, if you die of skin cancer I call dibs on your paintball stuff.

I worked from 10AM - 3PM outside, no shade, temp 40C with humidex (straight up was 32C)... sunburns suck don't they?

Aloe Vera gel... anything with vitamin E helps the peeling... soak in cold water for a bit. Apparently cold teabags work too, just keep them wet and dab at the burns.

Cant have a Shameless Quote if they won't tell me what it is...
