I own a tm7, so what do you mean control the bps, it has the selector switch from semi, ramp (aka 3 shot burst) and nxl fullauto. If you mean by programing it? then yes you can program it whatever you want up to 20 bps. so controlling the bps is basically the same and is not an issue. I would buy a tm7 over a phenom if i had the chance agian (i have shot the phenom multiple times)

Yes, complete with needing a steady stream of ratchets as the cyclone breaks them apart all the time.

Yeah that is the downfall of the Cyclone system. You would do well to spend the extra $100 to upgrade with the TechT Cyclone parts.

I have owned the TM7 for 5 months now and shot about 8 cases of paint through it. It took A LOT of playing around with it to shoot well. Out of the box it was very unreliable. Shot to shot it would change drastically on FPS. I'm talking going from 265FPS one shot and 180FPS the next. Everyone kept telling me it takes about 5 cases of paint to "break-in " the reg. Sorry, but for almost $400 I expected better. Playing around with dwell, etc I finally got it running smooth. The only complaint I have is that you don't want to run air on the marker. Definitely want to run remote. The plastic body has a lot of play in it with a tank attatched. Just ordered a TM15 today to try out. I'll let you know if it is any better. I have shot the X7 Phenom, and while it worked well I found it to be really freakin loud compared to what I'm used to. My first was a Blackcell Ion I used for the past 4 years until I got the TM7. I prefer the quieter marker.

I've seen some FPS fluctuations that are not great for an electro (but better than any blowback I've seen), but nothing that severe. I wonder what happened to yours at the factory.
Agreed on the remote. You pretty much have to use a remote with the way the TM7 was designed. It's possible to run air on-gun, but I wouldn't recommend it for the exact reasons you've cited.
I think the TM15 will at least offer some improvement from the metal frame instead of a lightweight shell, but I await your results on this.

Im also considering building my own. Finding an old ion and upping it, and putting it in an airsoft case. Or maybe ill design a custom case. Im still considering. But let me know how your TM 15 goes
