So what should be included in a degree in paintball? Math? Science? History?

What professional field would it be a part of? Social Science? Science? Art? Physical Education?

It would be nice to have a job in paintball. A college degree helps in other fields, why not this one?

What would you include in a paintball degree?

I want a Bachelor's degree in Newbish Behavioral Sciences.

Courses consist of Agg 101, Fundamentals of Being Owned 108, and a thesis on why my Brass Eagle is the best marker in the world.

But on a more serious note some business schools offer a degree in hospitality. Which pretty much translates into teaching you how to manage a tourist attraction such as a cruise ship or casino or something along those lines. So you could kind of turn that into a degree for running a paintball field. But of course that just doesn't sound as fun as having an Associates in Paintball Theory. ;)

A business degree can help out. Heck even someone with a degree in agriculture can keep a field running for 20+ years.

I think that it should either be a trade school that cycles you through the stages of paintball: Newb, Tippmann's rule, Electro, Referee, or set up as an apprenticeship. Of course, I'm a plumber so I go with what I know, and I KNOW you can drive nails with a Tippmann.*

* Does not endorse driving nails with your Tippmann. :P ;) :D

certified in...

gun techs - all major markers, air smith, field management, emergency preparedness, conflict resolution (part of being a ref), communicating with staff and guests, small structure design, organizing big games, and marketing. cover general aspects of paintball shop and field operations.

I can teach "How to go to a Scenario, not even carry a marker, and eliminate tons of people." Or, for short we can call it "Scenario Shenanigans 151." There definitely needs to be at least a few Scenario classes, since that is a growing section of the sport.

dudes, everyone should pick a topic.. do a youtube video and we should have a grand master library of how to paintball, anyone in the industry (runs a shop/business) can talk about general aspects and marketing / operations

refs can make videos on how to be a better ref and communicating with players and cover common rules

teams can make videos on team structure / practices / tournaments / traveling with gear

and randoms can just make other random crap.

As soon as I get back home for the summer, I'm on it! Any requests for what I make?
I've actually thought about doing something like this, but I don't have a video camera. I should get one this summer...

maybe some wabbit .... and some greens .... you could totally "ham" it up ... haha, pun intended ... act like youre chasin around some wild rabbit, and picking dandelions and weeds, and then at the finished meal, come up with a gorgeous looking three course meal at the end .. lol .. of course, you will need a big chef hat, a camo one, and a camo apron ... it would be epic ....

I know they make camo chefs coats and pants, so we'll see.
I was thinking of actually cooking stuff though. Do something like Rachel Ray's "30 Minute Meals"...but without being really annoying and dumb.
Things you could do at scenario games after playing all day and only have an hour or so for dinner break. I'll probably also do some bigger things for those people that don't play the night games (like me).

We'll see. It'll depend on 1: When I can get a camera. 2: How much I'm working. When I'm in a kitchen 10 hours a day, I usually don't really want to come home and do it again haha.

I feel like this is getting off topic.....

I think that a paintball degree would have to include:

1. An extensive knowledge of gun tech...being certified by all of the major compaines
2. An training in all types of paintball, you would take classes that went more indepth into say speedball if you wanted a degree more geared towards that, but would be expected to learn about woodsball as well. This training would include things like effective team communication, skills such as snapshooting, and flanking, woodsball strategy etc..
3. Training in field ownership and management.
4. Certification as a ref.
"I could be your third wheel."
"You know that's not a good thing right?"
"Of course it is, it adds more grip, greater stability"
