I have a T8, it has a slightly longer barrel than stock. I was wondering if this apex tip can fit right onto the barrel without needing threading.

not really sure... does your barrel tip have a indent or anything where this would grip onto ?

it says 4 screws.. so it maybe just a pressure thing... screws overtop of the barrel...

i got the one from pepperball.com and that barrel is longer too... so sticks out about an inch..... hmm that would work...

Hey, yeah I have the SA-8 as well, I think I've seen you on McB. I know nothing about the apex though but if it uses set screws I bet I can just tighten it on the barrel real nice.

The Apex tip splits top to bottom and uses grooves and o-rings around the barrel. I am not sure that an inch would be enough length to fit one on or not. It the barrel OD is 7/8" or less, you can use electrical tape and wrap it around the barrel to make the grooves or preferably heat shrink tubing and build it up in layers to form the grooves to hold the Apex tip on the barrel.

From what I can tell that adapter requires the end of your barrel to be threaded. The T9 barrel and the Lapco Str8 Shot share the same threading. There is no way that adapter could mount to a Str8 Shot by any other means besides threading on.

Good call. I did not open the link. I thought the OP was talking about just the Apex tip itself. You are correct about the adapter needing threads.

Without the adapter you could do what I suggested with just the Apex tip if the barrel sticks out far enough.
