Whats your word on the best Matrix? Lets try to keep it relatively stock for the moment.

DM8 is too new...if you have one or shot one put a word in

Dye keeps on coming out with newer, better performing matrices every year. From the list a DM7 would be the best stock. However, you could always get into niched subchoices.

older DM3's and Matrix-LCD's, Mech Matrices for those who are oldschool.

Dm4's are hideous. Absolutely hidedous.

DMC's were different, composite was a weird choice.

DM6, whoop die doo, they did more milling and more features...

The point is, This question you posted is way too general IMO.

Sometimes the ugliest things get the job done. (Voted for DM4 BTW).

I dont know why but i love the DM5. It has both the old school feel and the speed of the new markers.

DM6 with out a doubt... it had just enough weight to counter the kick of the fuse bolt, it has the newer solenoids, (held up better than the vintage ones) also came with the UL frame stock.

the only thing i dont like about it, was the self cleaning eyes, that werent traditional eyes, like the DM7 uses traditional matrix eyes... dm6 uses diff style eyes.

I do not really see much difference in any of them. I like the DM4/5's myself. Not sure why but they are the only DM's I'd take.

If price is no object than I would go with the DM7.

Side by side comparison with the other matrices and it's got better specs.

The dm7 I think is there best marker but the dm4 was amazing.

The dm5,dmc,dm6 were crap compared to the dm4 the dm7 was amazing though.

Its tough choice between the dm4 and dm7.

Peace,

Maybe a rumor, but.....

Dude that I know that worked for Dye said that the company got mad in '05 because the PM5 was better than the DM5. So, they told the designers of proto that they had to design the Pm6 around the DM6, but not as good. After the DM6 came out, it was determined that it still wasn't as good as the PM5 but proto had to make the PM6 not as good as the DM6. I also understand that in '07, some of the top guys at proto were switched over to Dye.

But, what do i know.....

Just my opinions though....

Really?

I havent talked to dye but ive always been told/under impression that the proto guns were always a step down, pm5=dm4, pm6=dm5 not until recently did they start adding the UL frames stock would it seem they could be as good/better.

Peace,
Teddy K
