ok i have about 80-90 pounds of spent cartidges, ranging form 30-30 to 30-06 to 25-06 even a few 7.62... we have several walmart bags full of .45 auto casings and we are interested in selling them. they are all spent and at worse case scenairo we will melt down the brass and sell that. but are they worth more as shells? and who wants to buy them?
EDIT: also have 223 rounds 30 carbine

Look up the price of brass. Usually not worth that much.

Either scrap value, or here in the UK cartidges are often re-used in the shooting community with use of 'reloaders'. Ammunition is less commonly available.

My former boss is a dear stalker / warden and uses reloading. I have often picked up components in an anonymous industrial warehouse. Depending on the component and whether it is classified as target shooting or hunting affects on how the components can be bought. Some are available with no control, some on presentation of his licence (not necessarily in his presence) and some need him to collect with licence plus additional proof of ID.

.223

22 hornet

30-30

30-06

25-06

.45 auto

.38 special

.44

i also have an oddball bag with anything from 7.62 to a super mag to a 300 and several other odd sizes that i (Not exactly a gun expert) havent heard of. but there are very few of those. over 60% of the shells are .45 auto if that makes a diff

Yep- reloaders will give you the best money as long as the shells are in good shape/only fired once. You could try Craigslist or even Ebay if you can't find a local range or reloader that would be interested. Wish I reloaded- I'd love to get some cheap brass- ammo is expensive, especially .45's

my dad says what condition the cases are in, they do have a very big value to reloaders, my dad reloads 45's. and have the cases been reloaded? already or are they once spent. if you could take a picture of some of the 45's my dad found a place 1000 45ACP once fired, 65$
this is the web site

give this guy a call and see if he will buy

You will most likely get the most for it by selling them to reloaders, plus you have to skip all the bs of getting it melted down.

I would be interested in these:

.45 auto

.38 special

.44

Shoot me a PM with an offer. Would be shipped to OH 44689. I would take all that you had. If you could get a little better count of what you had.

Any idea what type of primers were in the .223 (boxer or berdan)?

Also is your 7.62 brass 7.62x39 or different? Might be interested if its 7.62x54r.
