Id deffinately go with the PM5. Theyre lighter, faster, more efficent, and just better all around. But good luck choosing!

PM5 is better in almost every category if not every one unless the ion is way upped.... air consumption should matter... more efficiency mean you spend less on fills and you can play longer, wieght... its just a comfort thing

PM5's will shoot As fast as you can pull the trigger :D :P , and the ions are capable of 17bps.
Oh, and i agree with Stumpy Sniper. Better air efficiency means more shots, so if you get in a real Intense game, youll be glad you have all the air you could have, to avoid running out...

well u wonder y it shoots faster is lighter and has better air efficency?theres a $500 gap betwwn the PM5 and the ION.so if u got an ion and uped it it would be about the same price anyways and mabyeven a little cheeper to go with the ion.

Deffinately go with the PM 5 on this one, it is one of the few markers I have heard that is actually quieter than my Ion. Just remember its going to take some tinkering to get everything to work correctly with it.

Not real sure who can afford a $800 gun as opposed to a $200 gun and say which one would you buy. Here are actual stats on the gun.

Quote

Specifications:

Compatible with: Proto Matrix 2005 with Ultralite frames.
Max rate of fire: Unlimited*
Modes of fire: 7 fully adjustable base modes with thousands of ramping modes
Battery life: 100,000+ shots
Battery type: 9 volt
Battery connection: Heavy duty 9v battery clamps
Processor type: micro-processor
Programming light: multicolor LED
Dip switches: two (15bps cap & tourney lock)
Trigger sensor type: Featherlight, 80g lever switch
Buttons: two (on/off & eye operation)
Includes: manual, sticker, carrying case
* Virtue's max rate of fire is fully adjustable, from 10.5bps to unlimitated! The only limitations on how fast you can shoot are the markers internal pneumatics and how fast your hopper will feed.

This is a no brainer for me. Unless I was playing pro on a team in a tournament on ESPN I would buy the Ion.

I would definently ( as in no doubt whatsoever ) take the PM5 over the ion. The only things the ion has over it are weight and efficicency.

Not really

The PM6 is smaller, lighter, has a better feedneck, a 2-piece barrel and a lower operating pressure.

Lol, the PM series is far better than an Ion. Being an Ion owner, even i can admit that PM5's own Ions in every way.
