I was asked to write the scenario for a local paintball event. I decided to do a black hawk down scenario. Figured I'd post it up and see what you guys think, final changes have to be made by Wednesday.

Task Force Ranger vs. The Har Gidr Clan
Delta Force - Alpha Warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid
Ranger Team – Bravo Faction Al, Faction La and Faction Ha
160th Special Ops. Regiment – Charlie


Overview: The Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down) was part of Operation Gothic Serpent and was fought on October 3 and 4th 1993, in Mogadishu, Somalia. Between the United States against the members of the Habr Gidr clan headed by Warlord Aidid. The battle resulted in about 2000 Somali casualties including civilians. The United States had 19 Casualties and 73 wounded.

Mission #1 : Convoy Raid (Saturday AM)
In the months preceding the “Black Hawk Down” Mission, Somali Terrorists raid UN caravans of weapons and supplies. Ranger teams will begin stationed at each of the four flags, their mission is to guard the flags from the attack of Somali troops. Somali troops mission is to capture the flags and return them to their home base.

Game #1 – Convoy Raid
30 Minute Time Limit
4 Pullable Flags (High Meadow Entrance, The Cliffs, Middle of Wilderness and on top of Wilderness Hill)
Rangers will divide up and begin by guarding the flags
Somali’s will all begin at Turkey Run
1 reinsertion (Rangers at an available flag, Somalis at Turkey Run)
Hopper Ball

Points
20 points for each flag guarded by Ranger Team
10 points for each flag pulled by Somali Team
10 points for each flag returned to Turkey Run by Somali Team

Mission #2 : Stronghold Warfare (Saturday AM)
Over the months preceding the Black Hawk Down Mission US Rangers attack various Somali weapon strongholds at the same time as Somali’s attempt to raid UN weapon strongholds. The objective of the mission is to destroy all sources of enemy weaponry while keeping ones own weapon cache safe.

Game #1 – Stronghold Ware Fare
30 Minute Time Limit
4 Strongholds with Pulley Flags (High Meadow, Top of Tubing Run, Shale Bank and Tubing Run)
Team Leaders will choose which two strongholds they will defend. Team that is behind in points will choose 1st and 4th, the other team 2nd & 3rd.
Teams may begin at one or both of their bases
Once a flag has been changed it can not be reclaimed
1 reinsertion (At your original stronghold)
Hopper Ball

Points
20 points for each base your team owns at the end of the game.


Mission #3 : The Olympic Hotel(Saturday PM)
-The Rangers' mission: to capture local warlord Mohammed Farah Aidid, who is meeting with his top lieutenants in a house next door to the Olympic Motel. The Somalian’s are at the same time attempting to defend their leader from capture against the Rangers raid.
-Somali troops will defend Mohammed Farah Aidid and 2 other officers from capture from the house next to the hotel. The Rangers mission is to gain entrance to the building and capture or kill the officers and Aidid.

Game #3 – Olympic Hotel
30 Minute Time Limit
The Olympic Hotel (The Cliffs). The Somalis start in the hotel and Mohammed Farah Aidid must stay in the hotel. This will also be their reinsertion point.
The Rangers will all start at the Top of the Tubing Run. Again, also theor reinsertion point.
The Somalis will also mark 2 additional Officers (highest ranking) with Red Arm Bands.
The Ranger Team will also mark 3 Officers (Highest Ranking) with Red Arm Bands.
1 Reinsertion for everyone except the officers (single elimination)
Hopper Ball

Points
20 points for each for each officer defended.
10 points for each officer killed.
25 points for each officer captured.
25 points for killing Mohammed Farah Aidid.


Mission #4: Bird Down (Saturday PM)
-16:20 hours. Blackhawk Super 61 gets hit in the tail by RPG and crashes into an alley five blocks from the hotel. Those rangers who had roped down from the helicopters are the closest to the crash site; some form a protective perimeter around the downed helicopter, others move in to help the seven-man crew. Somali gunmen surround those converging on the crashed helicopter: By late afternoon the rangers are still pinned down.
- Both the Rangers and Somalian’s are converging on the site of the first black hawk down, each attempting to take control of the helicopter and remain in control of the helicopter site until rescue vehicles can arrive. There is a small group of 3-4 soldiers already at the crash site, the mission will be for each team to converge on the crash site and capture the flag in the helicopter.

Game #3 – Olympic Hotel

Squadron Ware fare set in the lower paintball field.

Mission #6 : Evacuation (Sunday PM)
Rangers are successful in securing the first downed helicopter and have gained a good perimeter around the chopper. They must now escort the injured Troops down to the evacuation point; this entire path is riddled with enemy forces attempting to stop the Rangers before they are able to reach the evacuation point.


Game #6 – Evacuation
45 Minute Time Limit
Rangers will begin at Shale Bank. This will also be their reinsertion point.
Somalis will start at the Wilderness Flag. This will also be their reinsertion point.
There will be 5 checkpoints in which the Rangers must carry a person on a body board representing the injured rangers.
1. Top of Tubing Run
2. High Meadow
3. Turkey Run
4. Stone Bridge
5. Bottom of Campsite Alley
When the Rangers bring the body board to a checkpoint, only the injured player on the body board can pull the flag and keep it with them on the body board.
2 Reinsertions, The injured player on the body board is indestructible but should not be shot at.
Unlimited Paint

Points
20 points for each flag captured or protected.

Looks good so far. Nice work, how long did it take you to put that together?

Well, I've been thinking about it for months, only took me a few hours to actually sit down and formulate the games and rules. The game is in New York general area of Albany, it's a youth event that my paintball team has had biannually for 4 years I think now. My coach asked me to write it this year, which was a pretty cool opportunity.
