Thinking about the TPX or something from Tiberius, input please? I like the idea of being able to shoot first strikes from a side arm.

TPX is a good side arm IMO..

the 12 gram does not get pierced until you pull the trigger for the first time, so if its just sitting in your holster all day as a back up, you wont have CO2 leak out and get wasted for when you need it the most..

i also like how it feels in my hand better then the Tiberius line of pistols do.

i've never used FS rounds (yet) so i cant really have an opinion on them.. but i do know they are EXPENSIVE.

if FS is something you really want to get into, take a look into the T9 series.

back to pistols, either way both pistols are fine pieces of work, it just really depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend.

There's tradeoffs with either design, but both should work well.

If you have to shoot first strikes, you'll need the Tiberius X.1 (T 8.1 or T 9.1). I really don't recommend them unless you really want the extra cost.

A lot of FPO fields don't sell any first strikes, and thus you can't use them at those fields.

I like a lot of things about the Tiberius 8, and I like the feature of the TPX Thumper mentioned regarding 12 grams not pierced til needed. Older TPX magazines had issues with a full capacity, but I don't know if this is still the case.

All new TPX pistols should come with the new 7 ball true feed magazines..

and they are advertised to be less picky on paint. (not needing a hard shell high quality paintball like Marbalizers)

and mags are relatively cheap for the TPX.

Thanks guys much appreciated. I'm rocking a tippy 98c w/ flatline right now. I've been considering the T9.1 as my main. I have also never shot a FS round and with a regulator and HPA system my tippy is more than accurate to get the job done, and has good distance, so idk what all the banter about inconsistency is. I mean like I know its not a speedball tourney gun, lol. But it wasn't made for that. =/ I dunno, I'm torn.

98's COULD be used for speedball.. Us Army Guys 98 is pimped out with a reg, e trigger, cyclone (with the techt kit) and a few other things that makes that marker shoot nice...

SuperDucky did the same thing only his is better (i think)

but without a doubt the First Strike rounds own in distance.

FS rounds maintains its velocity at 200+ feet, other paintballs slow down after a certain amount of distance. (well thats what i heard)

How badly do you want to shoot first strike rounds? Also what is the paint situation at the field(s) you play at?

If the majority of your play is at FPO fields then I say go with the TPX. You get two magazines with the marker, plus changing out 12 grams is easier out on the field.

My option the Tiberius is better pistol.

FYI - the new 9.1 mags that are not out for another few weeks will be $24.95. they will be airless so you will need to run the remote-line (T8.1) or utilize the asa on the 9.1.

This has since changed, I'm looking for JUST a good pistol, leaning more toward the T8, its cheaper and the one on SO store can shoot FS rounds, a very cool plus for a sidearm. It seems that may give it some more functionality I hadn't anticipated. If anyone has shot both please provide any input you can, thanks.

Well in many cases - such as mine - people don't want to respond because they don't really have anything worthwhile to say... :(

But if I must say something, I'd say the T8 sounds like a very nice marker from what I've heard. If I ever had the money to buy a sidearm, that's probably what I'd go with just from reading about it. I have no personal experience however.
