Faster than any field will allow and faster than any of your friends you might play Outlaw with will appreciate. Meaning about 30BPS, like just about every other highend.

wouldnt the balls be literally inside each other then? I remember seeing some vid where 35 was fastest possible because thats when the balls are touching each other (it was a hopper feeding that fast)

either way, most fields if they see you shooting something that fast will cap you. not to mention i doubt you can get 30 with your fingers, and full auto is illegal at most fields

and if you outlaw and are gonna blow the money on a luxe... i hate you for beign so rich, and totally unnecassary against spyders

If the question you're asking is "how fast do they shoot", you shouldn't be buying a luxe.

There'd be 2.5 miliseconds between each ball at 40 bps, so there would be a little bit of space. But not much.

I was on the phone with Rob when I read this thread and told her that. xD

The 2nd part of Becc's post is more what I wanted to say but Rob made me stop cuz she knew i'd rant.

But since we're here...

If youre beating down nubs and talking about it on this forum, then you'll feed the stigma about people with high end markers. Dont use ramping or anything and set it to 30-40bps. Most people play at 10bps (idk where 15 came from, thats from a couple years ago) now so there is absolutely no reason to shoot that fast.

psshhttt my local tournaments are capped at 15 bps, and CXBL is still 15 bps, so I just leave my gun on 15 bps (semi though)

In the USA, 12bps is about as fast as you'll commonly see, with a pro or semipro classification. Otherwise, 10.5 is plenty fast, so if you're asking 'how fast does ___ shoot', you'd better be asking, 'how light is the trigger on this mech, and how fast have people been able to pull it without a reactive assist?'

The fastest gun, anymore, will be a PneuMag.

If you're concerned with cycle time, which is a legitimate concern for 'getting the drop' on people, a Luxe is exceptionally slow when compared with a nice poppet, or an MQ2 autococker (which blows any other gun out of the water for first shot reaction). An MQ autococker will get the ball moving down the barrel in 5ms. Most poppet valve guns with a ram are around 18ms, most poppet guns with a ram and hammer are around 22, and most spoolies are above 30ms. The Marq series is the fastest of the non-MQ guns, and unless I'm mistaken, the SLG is the fastest of the spoolies, due to its somewhat hybrid design.

But remember: slow is smooth.

A difference in 25ms isn't going to make a huge amount of difference though. It's still less than a second.

actually when you are shooting 30 BPS you are shooting multiple rounds in less then a second
that means if you want any gun shooting more than 1BPS you will need a cycle time less than a second, and when you are shooting 30 or so rounds in one second you will need a cycle time quite a bit less then a second.

Cycle time is how fast the gun can shoot. so 18ms to 30ms is quite a difference seeing as how many rounds you are shooting in one second, and the 65% difference from 18ms to 30ms
