The players asked for it...

* Blanding

* Use of windows and fire escapes

* More involved, multifaceted missions

* Professional theatrical effects

* Invitation only

* Limited to 300 paid players, handpicked by the commanders

* Professional reffing

* Only the highest levels of sportsmanship and competition

As this is no ordinary paintball event, I have handpicked two extraordinary leaders to command the sides.

Our first commander:

A man who is head-and-shoulders above most (partially because he’s about seven feet tall). He is the captain of one of the largest and most respected teams in the Midwestern United States. A team that specializes in “special weapons” and “command and control.” Although he’s only been playing for about five years, he has learned from many of the best, and is always striving to improve his skills and his team’s effectiveness. He has served as a field commander at three Blanding events, and has never been defeated when traveling to other areas.

Leading CTU...I am proud to introduce Cody “Hawk” Lawton of 1st Mercenary Group (1MG)

(Insert uproarious applause here)

And his opponent:

Hailing from Georgia, and being infamous in his own right for a number of years, he was once a member of the loved/hated “Sons Of The Apocalypse” paintball team. After a number of years with them he and others left to form his current team. His laid-back attitude could easily mislead an opponent to underestimate him. However, having played at multiple producers’ events, at Blanding, and commanded at events like Florida’s Grand Finale with 2000 players, this commander is plenty “long in the tooth” and rife with the kind of experience that will make him a formidable opponent.

Leading the terror cell will be Mark “Mudguts” Cohea of “The Moles.”

* Commanders will be in charge of inviting their 150 players. We will not be involved in this process.

* Must be 18 or older at time of play

* Teams will be held accountable for their own behavior. If the refs find a team cheating or running their mouths, the team captain will get one warning. Then they will ALL be asked to leave.

* As this event will be populated with the "creme de la creme" of scenario paintball, all players are expected to play until the scheduled stand down. This will be voted on and decided prior to the event. Main gate entry and exit will be limited to certain times.

* Player package will be a dosier-style manilla envelope with your badge (include a passport-style photo with your registration and get a personalized photo-ID event badge with your name on it), an event map on waterproof paper, and other pertinent game info in it.

Due to the fact that we are still responsible for the enormous overhead involved in producing an event at Blanding, including cleanup and the minimum-player-payment to the facility (which is far more than 300 players) pricing will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Initially we were going to go with a slightly more expensive admission, and a required two-case-per-person minimum when players checked in. However, I am not sure that players will shoot two cases with only 300 players.

Therefore, at this point, pricing will be as follows (subject to change):
* Admission: $150
* Paint: $85 (You must pay for one case at check in)
* Additional paint: $70
* Unlimited HPA (no CO2): $15 per player (You must pay for this at check in)

Information requested:

Camp Blanding is Basically in STARKE, FL.
However, the entrance to the game is on the opposite side of the base. It is probably a good 20 minutes.

By looking at the map it might be easier to find lodging in Middleberg.

The entrance to the field is off Highway/Road 21

Here is the info from last blanding event:

Email the commanders, they are choosing the sides. It appears that they are asking for a brief overview of your skills, experience level and ability to make the game. They are trying to pick the best that they can from across the country. Don't worry about the fact that you may or may not know them. They are both capable commanders.

I am not sure if I will be able to attend this event or not. I would like to be able to send one of the generals an e-mail for consideration. However I don't want to commit to it without knowing I will have the funds to get there.

Will there be another event like this next year? If so I will take it into consideration when I plan my event schedule.

Look at the bold to E-mail the commanders. I would love to send in my resume. However I doubt I will have the funds for it. I would either have to fly to Florida from Michigan or it would be a long drive. Both options seem a bit expensive right now.

Working on getting the rest of the team to say yes. Anyone got some tooth-pulling devices of any sort? Hehehe

I am gonna submit my info to the commanders. Just a few question

1. What is closest place to fly into on friday?
2. Will it end in time to fly out sunday evening?
3. Is it around the clock or do we leave at night and go to hotel?

Thanks

1. Jacksonville is probably the closest airport
2. Dont count on leaving Sunday before 4pm (outbound traffic from the base)
3. It's a military base ... gates are closed at night, but there is a "window" to get out after the night game. Lots of folks camp, but there are local hotels to accomodate you.

Camping at blanding FTW. You miss to much socializing if you stay in a hotel.
