I've seen hybrid diesel/propane toyota 4wds in australia. It was pretty cool, it basically uses compression to ignite the diesel, and then that ignites the propane which completely burns the diesel resulting in less smokey exhaust and better efficiency.

I stand corrected, in 2003, the Neon SRT-4 was priced at 19,995, before Destination and Delivery charges. But more after that year, and you cannot buy one anymore...

i think the highest i ever seen was 22,000. i'll change my answer if need be, i love 1000s of cars.

question on the rules....does the car have to still be able to be purchased new? or does just the value have to be <20,000 when new?

Doesn't really matter. I am trying to decide what I want after basic training. But I guess it doesn't matter.

You can get an xB for $16,420, but there is nothing on the website about a factory installed turbo.

BNIB? LOL, it IS the box! I hear they are pretty nifty little cars, but I would rather get an tC

VW Jetta TDi

Room for all my gear and my friends, and doesn't hurt my wallet. Yes, diesel's more expensive, but the TDi gets 50mpg. If diesel costs $3 and the usual 87 octane costs $2, that's the cash equivalent of over 33mpg.

base model Jetta, yes, TDi, no, over $20k by 3.5k.

You lose. However, I did not think to look at VW, I'll have to check them out.

You can only get a base Mazda 6 as well. However that is one car I have no driven. Too bad you have to spend 5k more to get the 272hp V6. And they won't let you have a manual trans with that V6 either :(

Reasons I like the Mazda3 5-door are plenty.

It's a wagon style, so I can carry more paintball gear, and it still looks pretty nice. 4-door, because if you have a kid, you must have a 4-door. Don't believe that, have a 2 door and a 3 year old daughter, and you will know. Good gas mileage. Sporty handling, and a fair amount of pep.
