I am a woods ball player, maybe later I might get into speedball and I am looking for a marker. I have considered only mechnical markers and for less then 250. And I have narrowed it down to two markers, a Spyder Rodeo, to the A-5. The Rodeo and the A-5 on PBR have both the same rating, A-5s a little more expensive, Rodeo is a little less durabil. I hear the Rodeo stocks good and A-5 is decent. I want opinions, not flamer notes

I'd go with the A-5 out of the two, its very easy take apart & clean. If you think the cyclone is too big of a target you can always get the Ricochet R5 hopper. There are tons of upgrades you can get for the A-5 both inside & out. This guy i was playing with on Wed had a brand new Spyder & during the 2nd game it just stopped working (so he had to stop & fix it) & also the hopper kept on coming loose.

I do like the A-5, it has a excellant grip, sight and firing mechnism, but its also more expensive, if you can find a good sight where I can buy 1 for about 200, I would leap at the chance. Is Rodeo out of Production?

I'm selling an A-5 for around $200 or if you don't care that the A-5 is silver you can get a new one for $180 + $10 S&H on ebay.

Quality over quantity. I would never take a spyder I have never had a good experience with them.
An A-5 will last forever and NEVER skip a ball. Rarely ever break them either.

I would take the A-5 any day over any gun out there.
You know what they say about a man who packs a big gun? They don't say nothing!

How is the stock barrel? I wont need much of a loader with the cyclone. And does it hog gas? You do have a point though.

You will need a better barrel, you can get a nice one for only $30. The A-5 isn't a gas hog, its the guy pulling the trigger that is the gas hog.

I am thinking around JJ ceramic, anyone want to give their oppion?Another thing came up, what about the BT 4?
I hear its about $130 and is very similar to Tippmanns, the only problem is that the cyclone feed isnt there.

Hmm, BT is decent, but it all adds up to the same as a A-5, going with orginal picks. But I have still not ruled out the Rodeo, give me a better reason not to buy it. Anyone know where to buy a good A-5 kit, squugee, tank, hopper, barrel condom and the gun?

I have a BT-4 Combat with a J&J Ceramic barrel. Very nice. I got a Turbo Loader from actionvillage for $25.00 that works great and doesn't need batteries. The Turbo Loader doesn't have any parts to wear out and it will feed until your marker takes its last breath, unlike the cyclone. If you plan on getting an E-Grip and spraying 15 BPS or faster I'd get the A5 just for the cyclone. If you don't need to shoot faster than 12 BPS I'd get the BT-4 and a Turbo Loader. BT has an E-grip available but if you got it you'd have to get an electric hopper to keep up with it and I hate anything that has to rely on batteries. If you don't mind electric loaders the E-grip for the BT works flawlessly. The J&J Ceramic barrel has a teflon infused ceramic coating on the inside. This makes the inside of the barrel VERY slick which keeps the ball from dragging on the barrel and spinning which improves accuracy.

I haven't seen a turbo loader, do you mean something else? Is a Richocet any good, I hear that the hopper is made to bounce off balls, is it as good as it sounds?

Well the BT-4 Assault comes with a stock and a great barrel out of the box all you need is a gravity feed unless you want to shoot faster. Though everythings already there for ya.

What about a Tippmann 98 Custom Pro Act, I have found that it has antichop+ good barrel. Its has a variety of upgrades and is about 150.
