Do muscle cars count? I have a 71 monte carlo that is in the process of being built. It has a 350 roller and new transmission(the kind escapes me, I got it out of one of my dad's old cars). Cragar 15x6.5 in the front, and Cragar 15x8 in the back. I just ripped off the vinyl top, and put it in primer. I'll try and get some pics once I get it painted.
I'm painting it tan.

That'd be a Mitsubishi RT-346. It's pretty new and not well known, but still extremely awesome.

Eville, too bad it's still a concept. It will most likely never happen. And it's got the stupid christmas lights from the R8.

Gotta respect the VAG, though.

Flippy-I thought it was a concept car. Best hotwheels ever.

And do you mean Nissan GT-R?

defiantly Nissan, aka skyline. You have yet to experience the car till youve used the launch control. Great all wheel drive car! If that was a Honda, I would be scared lol

Btw, mtaylor how are you getting 27psi of boost and it be efficient? I know that once I go over 15 on my ct26 i get nothing but hot air. What turbo are you using?

hows the 71 Monte Carlo look? any rust problems? I know my old rx7 had some rust here and there and it was a 92.

as for the sts turbo on a mustang. never seen it before, but where it hits the exhaust, wow... thats all I can say. If you want that you might as well get a trunk mount IC. Running all that piping will be 3X more expensive to install than a supercharger. The reason I say you might have better luck with a super charger is the fact that you cant run high psi on a mustang safely and buying thousands of dollars worth of turbo that you can barely break in is kinda pointless. At least with a supercharger you dont have to wait for spool and you still have that N/A feel without the hassle of the turbo. sounds like a scam if I ever saw one lol

Nope, bought it from a guy who drove it from Vegas. It is completely clean, and will never ever be driven in the winter. The dashboard is cracked and faded, along with the interior. Luckily though, my mom used to be an upholster so she is making me all new seats. I just ordered a new dash, along with gauges, cuz they were pretty much destroyed by the sun. The paint was extremely faded, but it only had a few dents, and the body was really straight. I got a chrome accent kit for my engine that I will be installing in the next few days.

Sounds nice! good grab on the car! Tell you what, classic cars are worth a lot now a days. As for the interior, go to a junkyard. I bought a parts car for 200$ managed to get about 700$ worth of interior trim! It might be hard to find a 71, but hey, might as well look. If all else fails you can get a body shop to mock up some fiberglass trim pieces. I had a friend of mine make some nice parts for my subs in my old celica.

I don't know where you get your information this is a scam, but Im pretty sure sts has been around for good while now. If you look them up, you'll see some damn mean ( and cheap ) setup from them.

I don't understand where you are getting this idea that this is so much more expensive/Pointless when you've never had any sort of experience with them. But if you do, you obviously had something wrong with the car you drove with it. These spool up jst as quick as a regular well set up turbo, and produce more power using less n/a power and for less money.

But I mean, if relocating half the stuff under your hood, icreasing underhood temperatures, and an overall more inneficient system is what you're into, be my guest. But I suppose the twin screw under the hood is better than any male enhancer, right? I just want a simple, out of the way system, I've done my homework, i'm not completely oblivious like most people I see try this.

Xakk, it's just the Ko3 turbo in it. Once it gets over about 15-20 psi it doesn't make any difference. I'm thinking about an FMIC and a water/meth kit next summer, I don't want to get a bigger turbo as I love the insta-spool of the little one, and top end doesn't bug me.

We have a 71 chevelle, and 2 71 montes sitting in our back yard. I'm pretty set for parts. Now all I need to do is convince my dad to give me his 69 mach 1, it has been sitting in our barn with primer and no engine for 10 years now.

ha, no, Ive never used them. But I do car mechanical work all the time, I can tell you now, that turbo system is not going to cost 1500$. Itll cost that much for the turbos alone. Then, all of that piping is going to rack up more than your average exhaust. So that's over 1K. Then the BOVs, the new CAIs etc. Your looking at a 5K system. Then you have to install it. Do you know how many hours go into taking off the exhaust, putting that monstrosity together and tuning will take? The average mechanic charges over 50/hour, your looking at 7 hours of work at the least, plus a dyno and tune. That will easily put you at 7K. You can get a cobra supercharger for about 4K run the same amount of Psi, and have it done in very little time. Not to mention its easier to fix. The cold air on those turbos isnt going to make that much of a difference. Under the hood or not. The turbo would be more efficient(it wont start blowing hot air if you turn up the PSI) but its not going to increase the Hp/Psi ratio THAT much, seeing as you wont be going over 7 psi, you might as well put it under the hood to save weight. All of those dyno sheets on their web site are cars with built internals, good drivetrains, and probably running off of race gas. Plus, you need to add the time it takes to spool. And no it will NOT get you better gas mileage. A turbo is not something you can simply turn off(sure you cannot put your foot to the floor, but it will still boost) without an aftermarket ECU (another thousand $ there).

I have a turbo charged car, I built a turbo charged car, you might want to listen to me. But, if you want to go with the guys trying to sell you a product, go a head. lol not going to push you anymore. Just take a look at superchargers again before you make up your mind.

"Once it gets over about 15-20 psi it doesn't make any difference"
Then why are you pushing 27psi? that's just going to put stress on the turbo and engine??? lol. but hey, it is cool that you can say that your pushing 27psi! :panzer:

I realize Ive kinda taken over my own thread so Im going to leave it be for awhile. ;)
