Ground Zero here charges $135 for a case of 2000 Paintballs... Meanwhile Bronson & Bronson sells 2 brands on line, Diablo and Empire. The most expensive case is $80.00

I shoot Draxxus rec-ball at 40$ a case which I buy from the local paintball store, but at the field (owned by the same company) a case of the same paint is 70$. At least I think its the rec-ball formula.

the field closest to me charges 90 a case for rps premium..

my home field which is about 1hr 15mins away is BYOP. (better fields, and staff is alot better then the one closer to me)

i would like to start going to CPX more, and since Action Village pre sells cases of their paint.. (they basically give you a receipt saying you pre purchased a case through them, and AV includes 3 free admission/air/rental coupons) so that saves me the $18 at the door. i dont have a problem paying $90 for Marbalizers and they retail around $70 bucks?

when rps "premium" retails for 60.. id rather travel further and pay 90 a case for something thats good, and play at a good field.. then pay 90 for a $60 case and play on crap fields and 12 year old refs..

edit: i understand that fields need to make a buck here and there, even if the field near me had somewhat better paint (like marbs) i will still not go there.. ive had to many problems with the reffing and fields are just not... good.. the wooded fields are too small, and honestly.. there really is not that big of a turn out of people that know what they are doing there.. so i feel bad walking in there and being one of the very few with my own gear and experience.. its just not challenging anymore so i decide to travel and get my moneys worth.

^^ I know that feeling. Showing up with all your own gear and tere is only a few rentals there. It was 3-3 all day and I was the only one with my gear. Gah I felt out of place.

Usually most fields have a day dedicated to team practice, try to go then. That's when you develop your skills.

Not my field. The average showing on open play is...3. One kid who is always there. Me. And then I always bring a friend. Then the ref plays and there is no ref. Ya.

$50-60 at a field around here, normally a $15 field fee for the works. So a day of paintball with 2000 rounds is about $75 tops, not too bad considering I work a lot and get paid okay.

Also, I've been receiving field fee waivers in the mail from the local fields. Just a one-time use card thing that let's you play for free, but the paint ain't free. Drops down to $60 tops a day. i'm definitely going more now that they're mailing those cards out so it's working for them.

did I die for a second there?...
