all that 4x4ing you do is done with a 4 banger????? if so, that makes me think higher about my jeep.

all my 4x4ing at the moment is done with 2 bald rear tires. and a almost bald front tire. can i now be promoted to 4x4ing god? personnaly i think that my excursion has gone more place then any stock truck should. i also think its gotten through more then any stock truck should have. by that i mean it hasnt got stuck in some of the crap ive taken it through. i mean an 8000lb in some soft dirt with 3 bad tires and not getting stuck evean after diggin some holes.

Question is, can you play on rocks with tires like that? B) I think what he means is that a 4banger jeep, especially Wranglers and CJs, have a bad rep for being underpowered offroad. I guess me playing like I have made him feel better about getting a little 2.5.

yes matter of fact my avvy was taken on a trip with these tires. thats my good tire up on that rock. besdies excursion and rocks arent friends. the long wheel base and everythign just dont like rocks all that much. but i can sure as hell try cant i? im really desperate to do some real wheeling. my offroading area is so easy i could do almost all fo it in 2wd.

horsepower on rocks is not always good. i've wheeled 4 bangers with 35's and went everywhere i wanted to go and then some. traded out for my cj cause the running gear could not hold up to what i was putting it through but the 4 banger did the trick. its all about gearing and locking the diff's, and you could put a weed eater motor in it as long as it's geared for the motor.

kinda off topic. but its pretty relevant. two questions for jt. did yoy make it up to pureco(sp?) today and if so any pics?
and are you goign to check out that 4x4 show on the 31st they posted it on nmvjc.

i cantw ait untill i can set up my excursion the way i want. take out the carpet and rhino line the bottom half of the truck plus the interior. waterproof everything in the interior(like the radio light controls). do some custom cutting on the roof. it would be fun. but for some reason my mom doesnt seem ok with me doing that to my $20,000 truck at the moment. i wonder why.

Nope, didn't make it to the Puerco today... way to hungover to get up and start on the way to ABQ at 7ish. I'm hoping to make it the next time they go up if they are willing to meet a little later than 10am.

And I do plan on going to the show, if it's not the same day as the mudbogs down here. NMT does mudbogs every year for spring fling and I've got to help since I'm part of NMTORC

There's never a place I haven't been able to go because of my 2.5L. I love it! The only time you'll notice the lack of power is on the interstate, but even then, I can hit 75.

Yep, NMTORC = New Mexico Tech Offroad Club. I've been a member since I was a senior in HS last year. I'll keep you updated on mud bogs though :panzer:

you are right about real jeeps being clean if the play on rocks. but most of the time they have large trail scars. 40 bucks for any rims is a good deal. unless its like for your bike.
